LOST: my plane on in cockpit map

Somewhere along the way the my plane icon/image is now missing from my in cockpit map. Does anyone have a quick solution to get it back? Thanks!

You mean the black plane icon that shows your position on the map?

For singleplayer it can be turned on/off in the realism options. I think it is called "Navigation markers."

For multiplayer it is a server option.
