Mysticpuma Posted Sunday at 07:02 PM Posted Sunday at 07:02 PM There isn't much of a description as to what this relates to, but checking the aircraft markings, it appears it may relate to the following. Hawker Hurricane G-HURI in the markings of RF-E P3700 303 Polish Squadron. On 9 September 1940, Fl/Sgt Kazimierz Roman Wünsche was flying P3700 from RAF RAF Northolt. 303 Squadron intercepted a large formation of approximately 40 Ju 88 bombers escorted by Bf 109s and Bf 110s. During the engagement, P3700 was shot down by a Bf 109. No specific German pilot has been definitively identified as responsible in historical records. Wünsche successfully baled out but was injured (leg wounds and facial burns). The Hurricane crashed at Saddlescombe Farm near Poynings, West Sussex. He recovered and returned to operations in 1941, later being awarded the DFM, DFC and VM. https://youtu.be/0m5gUWR_aDw?is=dqT60xwJ0OjLc-3l
