YAKflyer007 Posted July 3 Posted July 3 (edited) I am still in the process of getting my Hotas and pedals setup. Testing in single player B29 scenario. I notice when I get to the bomber stream with the Mig 15 my fps goes way down. Now I understand that it will go lower because of more things on screen. (PC gaming for 30 years). But what is weird is that when taking off before the time travel I am getting 90-110fps. When I get to the bombers I am at 35 fps. The issue is after takeoff my GPU usage is at 90+% in afterburner but when I get to the bombers it is at 55-60%. My CPU is at 65-70% (usage % NOT temp) at bombers so it should be feeding the gpu what it needs and I should NOT have a cpu bottleneck. My system is a 13600k at 5.2 all cores, 64 gigs of DDR4, RTX 4080, 2tb M2 drive separate from OS M2. Res is 5120x1440. I have a mix of settings in graphics. No issues in other games. I know UE5 likes DDR5 but I am having a hard time figuring out the low gpu usage. Thanks for any help! Edited July 3 by YAKflyer007 1
Valis Posted Tuesday at 09:57 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:57 PM (edited) Same experience here, but with Radeon 9070XT. Happens low over cities, or in a furball with AI. It seems any time the player is near to, or looking in the direction of AI units, the game gets very choppy. According to the widget the GPU (and CPU) are barely awake but FPS is tanking hard. reidarpeidar Posted Wednesday at 09:56 AM Posted Wednesday at 09:56 AM A big drop like that is usually caused by memory issues. 5120x1440 seems a bit too excessive for that card. If you're using PCIe 4, that might also slow you down. The GPU is waiting for the CPU which is waiting for the SSD. That being said, the game's performance doesn't scale very well. Once you get 8-10 planes in the air at once, things go downhill very fast.
