eszyman Posted June 27 Posted June 27 I was expecting a "blip" style key mapping for the MiG-15 air-brake along with a manual toggle switch. Any chance to add that as a mapping option? 2
Czech693 Posted June 28 Posted June 28 Are you referring to a switch that deploys the airbrakes while it is being held down, and retracts them when it is released?
Dash,Polder Posted June 29 Posted June 29 He may be referring to one you can stop at intermediary positions, have and hold partial brake deployment.
Czech693 Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Yeah, like flaps, but I don't think they functioned that way in RL.
eszyman Posted June 29 Author Posted June 29 (edited) No, there is a button on the stick that needs to be held to open the brakes only when it is pressed, a momentary button. This is animated, but acts as a toggle. Note that there is also a toggle on the left side of the cockpit near the green light. Edited June 29 by eszyman 2
Red_Dragon Posted July 1 Posted July 1 Hi developers, It would be great to have an option to bind controls as a "Hold to activate" (On-Off) function, where releasing the button triggers the opposite command. We already have this logic for camera views (press to look, release to return to default). It would be incredibly useful to have the same toggle behavior for mechanical controls, specifically the Airbrakes. This would allow a "press and hold to deploy, release to retract" behavior, which is exactly how the airbrake switch works on the MiG-15 IRL. Thank you for considering this! 1
JG1_Vonrd Posted July 1 Posted July 1 +1 In DCS you have the option to map a particular button in both the usual "ON" position but there is a dropdown menu to select that same button number in the "OFF" position. For example I map my throttle push button 32 when pressed and held for speedbrakes open, then when released (button 32 "OFF") speedbrakes retract. You can do this for any button. 1
Valis Posted yesterday at 12:57 PM Posted yesterday at 12:57 PM I just started writing a post about the MiG-15 airbrakes - I too wondered why there was no 'momentary' command available. +1 to all this! Also, I've read the airbrakes would automatically deploy to prevent overspeed - is this true? Will it ever to be implemented?
eszyman Posted yesterday at 02:46 PM Author Posted yesterday at 02:46 PM I'm going to add this to the MiG-15 section for reporting specific problems / bugs with specific aircraft. 2
