Hello everyone, Has anyone edited the taxiways at airfields yet? It doesn't seem to have a feature like the one in the IL-2 BoS editor. Is the AI smarter than in IL-2 BoS? Thanks for your answers.

Since I didn't get an answer lol... I found a translator that's in the MCU's taxi graph. Signed, the nobody

If this hasn't been done already, I am currently editing the taxiways. Before I spend time on it, is there a template that already includes these taxiways? If not, I will share mine.

Could you explain how to use the taxi graph MCU if you've figured it out?

Create an airfield, then place an MCU called "Translator Taxi Graph" within it.
then linked the MCU to the Airfield as an object. next, right-click on the MCU and select "Edit".
So then you have to choose: taxi, parking (small to large), entry point, link, etc.

Hello, here are the initial "Taxy Way" releases. They are compatible with the airfield templates provided by LUKE FF.
The first batch covers the following airfields: Taxy 01 Antung (Andong), Taxy 02 Tatung-kao, Taxy 03 Dapu, Taxy 04 Kuandian, Taxy 07 K-14 Kimpo, Taxy 09 K-46, Taxy 10 K-55 Osan, Taxy 27 K-41 Chungju, Taxy 35, and Taxy 37. You can create additional parking spots by taking the place of an aircraft in LUKE's template, but be sure to remove the static object representing the aircraft first; if you forget, collisions will occur. That is why I have only placed parking points in empty slots.
Right, I'm carrying on with the work, though it takes a long time.

In your example, the working type is Taxi, how do you set the part of the runway as Runway ?

It occurs automatically between the two runway points.

Ok thanks.

How do you set the parking small medium or large ?

Tell me if i'm right.

You lock the runway ends, then after you select the kind of parking ?

No, it is not dependent.

Didn't see this post and was asking about this...
I was expecting every airfield to have pre-defined taxi paths in the database (as I believe we had in iL-2 Great Battles).
Didn't see it after Early Access though... so the answer is indeed to do it manually.
Thanks for the work.

NN_Cat51,

Thanks for making Taxi Groupe templates, great job. I installed 'Taxy groupe 01-02.7z and I noticed that K13 Suwon wasn't listed on the template. This was the main US Sabre Base used during the Korean War - is there any reason why you left it out?

I am having a go at installing it myself, though am now running into trouble. When you right click on the 'Translator Taxi Graph' no side window appears, so I can't select 'Edit'.

Is there any chance of you amending these templates to include Suwon?

Thanks,

DFLion

I asked the question earlier about the airfield design and it was suggested, for the desired airfield, to create a career and then open the new mission file created from the mission folder after you start your first mission.  I did that, and it was a real challenge to sort out what was what.  But it is an option.

Easier than that, we don't need to create a career; just create a quick mission in the task editor, then open the _gen.mission file, and save whatever taxi graph you wish from the available airfields.

I am wondering if the taxiway MUST have an airfield linked to it in order for AI to use it.

You easily create a quick mission, then open it in the editor and see how an airfield is implemented, with taxiways, statics objects, ambient objects, AAA defences etc.

Also usefull, is that if you create a quick mission using in any of the available airfields, and choose the country you are flying, it will automaticaly place the statics according to that country. Let's say you want to setup a particular airfield for UN, just create a mission with a UN parked aircraft in that airfield, then edit the _gen.mission, select all items in that airfield and save it to a group, and that is it. You have a complete airfield setup to use in any mission you want to create. The mission generator will do everything for you.
