Old IL2 GB manual but mostly it still applies. You may also find helpful info in the old forum's mission making thread

Also, there's a lot of resources in the Mission Editor and Multiplayer Server Guides section of the IL-2 Sturmovik Resources post in the old forum (not to mention some entries in the resources section that may be useful to a pilot in Korea, for example, the Air Combat Guides section).
