Ergig2112 Posted June 25 Posted June 25 The game is very washed out on HDR (not visible in screenshots and recordings) and the gamma slider does nothing. It seems it needs a max nits setting to properly accommodate HDR 1
Ergig2112 Posted June 25 Author Posted June 25 Turns out it is also washed out with HDR enabled through windows but disabled through the game
Stonehouse Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Try turning off HDR in windows. It helped some of us in beta testing. The devs know about it. Some other things to try if turning off HDR in Win11 doesn't help you. Intel Ultra9 285K, ROG Strix Z890-A, 32 GB RAM, RTX 5070 Ti 16GBVRAM and driver 591.86, Win11 Pro, Saitek Pro Flight Combat pedals, Warthog HOTAS, TM Cougar MFDs, Monitor resolution 2560x1440 at 164kHz using G-Sync. Graphics settings maximum.

Im very familiar with HDR its specifically this game (i had typed out a longer reply to clarify this but the site bugged and i lost it and cba to type it out again). Turning off HDR does just does that, youd be hard pressed to call it a solution at all and its really just the feature being so broken it has to be disabled to be playable.

Not arguing about it being more than an interim solution that will help during the EA phase. All I can say beyond that is that it was reported during beta testing by several testers (myself being one) and that the devs know about it. I assume it is on a list of bugs to fix with a priority assigned to it. I don't know what priority is assigned. That's up to how the dev team regard the severity compared to other stuff. Habu Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Thank you, now i know why my game seems wash. I'm going to disable it in the graphic settings.

It sounds like maybe you dont know much about HDR but what i was saying is that the in game setting doesnt do much. If you have an HDR monitor then you need to disable HDR in windows settings just to play il2 (and reenable it after if you normally use it)(*HDR really should only be enabled in windows if you are going to use HDR content and you should toggle it off if youre watching any SDR content such as youtube or games that dont support it) because as it stands this game despite having a setting does not support HDR. In this case you should also disable the games HDR too. If you dont have HDR you should never have enabled it in game in the first place.
Habu Posted June 27 Posted June 27 I have a 4k Oled HDR monitor. I'm not going to use HDR if my hardware is not HDR. I found the problem which seems link to nvapp.
