AeroCrab Posted June 12 Posted June 12 I think you will also need to adjust the value called "goodness" in the aircraft json files. The shipping data has the D3 at 50 and the D5a at 55 (and the Pfalz at 53). The code will evaluate these numbers and basically go "why would I get a D3 which is only 50 'good' when I could get a D5a at 55?" and give you a D5a (if available). The "goodness" values aren't really anything absolute, they only exist to "rank" the various available aircraft. Maybe try setting the D3 to 56 and see what happens. And yes, there is some bug with the balloon missions, I just can't remember now what it was. 1
elephant Posted June 12 Posted June 12 (edited) Thank you so much AeroCrab, I 'll try fiddling with the goodness value...😉 Edited June 12 by elephant
elephant Posted June 13 Posted June 13 I changed the value to 55 and seems to be working. I'm wondering is it possible to introduce two seperate aircraft for the D.3 type? Lets say the D.3 (goodness 50) from January to June, July '17 and the D.3 OAW (goodness 55) from June '17 to July '18.
elephant Posted June 15 Posted June 15 (edited) Talking about Franz Ray and Jasta 49, I have inserted Jasta 49 in PWCG. It will be available from 1-2-1918, flying Albatros D.3 and D.5a (with goodness 55 the D.3 is the primary plane). I have to insert the CO, Franz Ray and Hermann Habich as Aces now... (I could use some of AeroCrab's experize on the matter, as I don't know how to handle it myself) For the moment I gave their skins to my PWCG generated CO and deputy as an illusion to reality. Check out the first skins I created for my Mod. My character Uffz. Heinz Buchenvalt in a mixed flight of 2 D.3 and one D.5a Flying alongside the COs colourful plane. The D.5a skin, of the last batch of Johannisthal machines. Edited June 15 by elephant 1
elephant Posted June 27 Posted June 27 I have added Jasta 76b, in PWCG. It will be available from 1-12-1917 (it was actually deployed in the 4th of November '17)). I tried to match as possible, with the most approximate airfields in the game's map, to the actual ones Jasta 76b was operating from, in order to depict their tour starting from Alsace to Somme, Ardennes and back to Alsace. They are going to have Albatros D.3 (OAW) and Albatros D.5a (as it is obvious from the pic below) and Fokker D.VII later in 1918.
elephant Posted June 29 Posted June 29 I have added Jasta 46 too, with the best aproximation of their actual airfields (one is identical). They will be available from 1-1 1918 (deployed at WF in 29-12-1917) equiped with Albatros D.3 (OAW), Albatros D.5a and Pfalz D.IIIa, later on with Fokker D.VII. Is there a better map besides the WesternFrontMap150 in PWCG, in order to find easily the names of the relevant aerodromes, as I find it difficult to read the names there?
elephant Posted June 30 Posted June 30 (edited) I did manage to seperate the different types of Albatros machines as plane types in PWCG. So we can get, as different planes, the D.3, D.3 (OAW), D.5, D.5 uprated, D.5a, D.5a (OAW) with their different production and use dates. It's the most historical setting but it becomes a bit messy, too many planes, too many skins to manage and although it works best for the old Jasta, for the newer Jasta of the Amerika Programme (41-80) that were created in late '17 early '18, is not as much historical because they didn't receive any D.5 and PWCG assigns them with the type. I decided to reduce them to D.3, D.3(OAW), D.5, D.5a fiddle with the dates and test further. P.S. Too much trouble for little reward...It's better to leave things as is and only play with the dates of the skins use for almost the same result overall... Edited July 1 by elephant
elephant Posted July 1 Posted July 1 I also did some changes to the German ranks but they don't seem to be in effect, I'm still getting the default ones. Is it something with my edit or there is another file to edit also? Spoiler { "rankId": 0, "rankName": "Kommandeur", "rankAbbrev": "Kmdr", "rankCountry": 401, "rankService": 40101 }, { "rankId": 1, "rankName": "Leutnant", "rankAbbrev": "Ltn", "rankCountry": 401, "rankService": 40101 }, { "rankId": 2, "rankName": "Fähnrich", "rankAbbrev": "Fhn", "rankCountry": 401, "rankService": 40101 }, { "rankId": 3, "rankName": "Vizeldwebel", "rankAbbrev": "Vzfw", "rankCountry": 401, "rankService": 40101 }, { "rankId": 4, "rankName": "Unteroffizier", "rankAbbrev": "Uffz", "rankCountry": 401, "rankService": 40101 } ] }
SortofRed Posted July 24 Posted July 24 Hello. I started a campaign in PWCG. I fly p-47's. I find that often when flying ground attack (usually a train) that at the objective and close by there is just 1 train and nearby 1 radar. No other ground targets at all outside of this. I have my config at medium for ground and air, and even changed it to high, but that didn't change a thing. I also often fly other sweep missions and rarely encounter any enemy flights. Any suggestions, or is this just the way it is? In addition, 1 more question please: The yellow active area box I just noticed for a mission really only covered my base in England down to the allied front line (red). I felt that maybe this could be a reason why this above issue is happening so I increased in config from 60 Km to 100Km to cover the objective, but there was no difference in targets again. can anyone suggest how I might configured PWCG so as to get an more immersive campaign. please? Thank you in advance!
SE.VH_DARK-BR Posted August 16 Posted August 16 (edited) How do I remove those blue circles from PWCG for co-op mode? I’d also like to get rid of the airplane icons—I already have the game set to "Full Real" difficulty. Edited August 16 by SE.VH_DARK-BR

The only way I managed to get ride of this was with this mod : https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/84013-no-aircraft-or-ground-unit-markers-on-the-map/
Vostok Posted August 18 Posted August 18 Are there any specific issues with using PWCG on the latest versions of IL-2? Since the software is no longer updated, I wanted to know if it's still viable or if it would be better to stick with the official dynamic career. ACG-Kev Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Hi all.. I've just started a career in the P51b. Got a problem with arming. I tick the weapons loadout (bombs or rockets) and Malcom hood in the pilot selection screen but the selections don't seem to be picked up in the mission file. When I start the mission the wingmen have standard hood and no underwing munitions. Has any one else had this issue? Flying Ponies202608282008568.zip

It's still viable, but the RPG element of PWCG can be reproduced in official career with mod like IL2 campaign tracker from arrow_1974. 1
