Hello

On the Mig 15 When Selecting the NR 23 Guns improvement we have acces to the compass

But if the NR23 guns imrpovement is not selected then the compass disappear completely.

Kind regards

Yes. As intended.

ok so where is the compass without the NR23 guns installed?

Pilots don't use handgun and flare outside of plane in multiplayer.

In the F-86 with drop tanks attached, the jet seems to drain fuel from the internal tank right away, without taking fuel from the drop tanks.

In the IL-10, I had settings on to fire all guns simultaneously, but the right wing's cannon would not fire.  I used up all the other cannon's shells, but the right cannon still had all its shells.

EDIT:  Now, all cannons fire.  Perhaps the one cannon got jammed in the previous flight?

Mods can only be all on or all off. If I choose the lock modification option in the dserver, it locks all mods no matter which I have allowed.

There's a reload/recharge command, if the aircraft had that capability it will allow your pilot to recharge the guns.  Don't know if it works yet, or on which planes, but it's there in the list.  It worked in Great Battles.

Had three guns jam up in an 86, so they do jam, why I went looking for the command.

Is it just me or do rockets feel crazy slow? Feels like whatever im flying, even if im nearing stall speed when firing, I overtake the rockets almost immediately. It almost feels like they're dropping like bombs, like the boosters aren't actually doing anything. Went back to GB to sanity check myself and those rockets feel like Id expected, slow compared to the other sim, but not nearly as difficult to use as Korea. Ill try and grab some recordings tonight to demonstrate, but has anyone else noticed this? Im surprised i haven't seen any discussion on this yet.

Which ones, there are several different rockets, if its Tiny Tim's they do drop quick since they're heavy hi drag monsters.  But what a punch.

So, there are three effects here:

1) The rockets accelerate quickly (burnout of the rocket engine happens in 1 to 1.2 seconds). This adds up to 1500 km/h. However, at supersonic speeds their drag is quite high and they quickly decelerate to subsonic speeds. Compared to Great Battles you are likely maintaining a higher speed (e.g. 1000 km/h) in your jet - this means that the rockets don't gain as much distance from you as you'd expect, and as you are experiencing lower drag and more continuous power (as a subsonic jet with its engine on), whereas the rocket is unpowered after its first second of flight, the rocket never gets as far ahead of you (and you may even begin to catch up with the rocket). This is very realistic.

2) The current modelling of HVAR rocket release has a delay from some hardpoints, which may make firing the rockets less ergonomic.

3) In Great Battles the default mission settings had no wind. In Korea the default settings have wind. As a result, unless you are flying directly upwind or downwind, you rockets will be blown off course. This gives an impression of lower accuracy.

4) Whereas DCS has moved from under-estimating rocket dispersion to having a high level of rocket dispersion (perhaps unrealistically high), but Korea has relatively low rocket dispersion, there is a high probability that one rocket missing will lead to all rockets missing (i.e. they may be too accurate to be used as a 'cluster munition').

I am specifically talking about HVAR and the Russian 82mm rockets, as these are what I have a point of comparison for.

These are good points, but im not sure they are actually relevant here.

When testing the other day I was trying to normalize for speed as much as possible when in the air, but i was mostly firing stationary from a runway. When doing this and comparing to GB, GB rockets seem to be significantly faster and have a flatter, longer trajectory.

I plan to dig into this a little deeper today, but this picture alone seems to indicate that our HVARs might be a wee bit sluggish. Ive never seen rockets get this far ahead of me in the F-84, even at extremely low speed. I may even try to recreate this frame later today.

The ‘metal plate’ above the front windscreen of the La‑11 fighter cockpit seriously obstructs the pilot’s view, whereas the same area on the New Zealand La‑9 (acquired from China) is fitted with transparent glass. Clearly, that ‘metal plate’ must be either a protective cover intended for ground parking or an optional fitting, rather than the unsightly ‘block’ seen in the game.

It's a metal plate for when the gun camera is not fitted.

Not sure if intentional: The JATO tanks do not de-spawn at all.

The issue is that when you use the bomb camera to cycle though all the bombs faling, it goes through all the ddisposed JATO cannisters first and takes a performance hit by loading the scenery back at the airfield.

Also, I'm sure it's negligible but it might have a performance impact?

I posted about this as feedback for the Yak, but this might be a better place. It has already been confirmed by at least one other person to be an issue

Original post:

I think I have found an ammo bug for the Yak. When selecting this ammo belt (and this belt in particular) no 20mm rounds are fired from the gun. The sound of the cannon plays, and shell casings are ejected out the bottom, but no tracer is visible, and no rounds impact the target (or the ground).

It's worse when one sets up the AI to use the belt, as that crashes the game:

Can someone else confirm this issue? It happens with 100% consistency for me

I haven't done any hard tests, but I do think that I've gotten pretty close to the reference photo you are using. At idle throttle and airbrake extended, I was probably going about 330mph indicated in the dive-- but that is just a guess.

The F-86 Sabre airbrakes constantly 'whine' while open, even when not moving (v.003)

Not sure if it's a bug or intentional, but the gyro compass in both F-86 Sabre and MiG-15 takes over a minute to swing 90° after a change of direction, making them practically useless. None of the other aircraft behave like this. For example the F-80 & F-84 have similar compasses to the F-86 and they keep up no problem.

I have the option off but following today's patch I'm having an issue where I have infinite ammo enabled, without it actually being enabled in options. Anyone else getting this?

Flares will only illuminate for the player on a multi-play server.  Tested two sorties, first with F-80's, one of two ships carrying, when I dropped over target each flare was only visible to the me.  Second sortie two F-51's, this time both with flare load outs, he dropped a flare first and I couldn't see any illumination, so dropped one myself and under my illuminated flare I could see his flares chute descending well below mine.  So the flare is there and visible, its illumination effects don't work for the other players.

When we both dropped on that second sortie there were Mig's in the area and they only keyed in on us once the flak woke up as we were already departing the target, long after the flares were out.

Attacked a vehicle convoy with rockets and napalm. I am not sure but I get the impression that vehicles destroyed with Napalm do not get counted on the score board. Can anyone confirm or deny?
