The issue is there, I´m not the only one experiencing it nor am I the first reporting it. The gamemakers know about it, no further statement I know of. Also, the weather. Here is a sunny day: I took a look at the Histogram for this shot and it's all been compressed to the center. From a range of 0 to 255 there is nothing darker than 33 and nothing brighter than 180. I'm not sure what would be causing that, but it's not normal. I wonder if this is a compatibility problem between Windows HDR and the Game. What happens if you turn off Windows HDR before starting the game? Edited July 1 by MajorMagee
Rocket_Knut Posted July 1 Posted July 1 (edited) @MajorMagee That´s a greenshot I took from the screenshot in order to get a smaller file size since the original is 31,6 MB. Doesn´t make a difference since the original screenshot looks the same anyway, i.e. the effect isn´t caused by using the greenshot tool. Edited July 1 by Rocket_Knut

Thank you for your input and for looking into it, appreciated. The game looks just horrible with Win HDR turned off. Screenshot seems to be ok ish, once the game is turned off and Win HDR turned back on again. So the solution for me seems to choose either a bad looking game or a to hit record and to do a lot of fiddeling afterwards. For a screenshot, stuff I need to rely on, when creating skins... Not a very satisfactory situation.
MajorMagee Posted July 2 Posted July 2 (edited) Okay, then it does seem to be that the Win HDR being displayed is compressed back to SDR by the game's screenshot function. That would be the case if they just use the windows screenshot function "as is". It needs to have a SDR Tone Mapping Look-Up-Table applied to correct this. This would eventually have to be added to the game as an option something like HDR Screenshots Color Correction. Screenshots taken with Gamebar may be a way to avoid this issue. Rocket_Knut Posted July 2 Posted July 2 Have been fiddeling with the HDR/Auto HDR settings in Win 11, zero result. I was hoping, yesterday´s update would bring a solution. It didn´t. And I don´t use Gamebar. Thank you again for your input. 2
Dash,Polder Posted July 2 Posted July 2 Same, no matter the settings I have washed out screenshots. 1
BlitzPig_EL Posted July 3 Posted July 3 No post process effects or editing, taken with the game's screenshot facility. Windows HDR off, game's HDR on. 3070Ti card. 2
