CzechTexan Posted November 30, 2025 Posted November 30, 2025 Take Golitsyno! 1941 DOWNLOAD: https://www.mediafire.com/file/lhmigmevomvqsse/Take_Golitsyno_1941.zip/file Note for future Sim updates: Whenever Great Battles is updated, mission files get broken and must be updated, again and again, rendering them unplayable. In order to fix the missions, open the IL-2 Sturmovik Mission Editor... in the TOOLS dropdown list, choose "Resave All Missions in Folder" and navigate to the Campaigns and/or Missions folder in your computer (IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles/data/Campaigns) and click "OK". Take Golitsyno! 1941 is a twelve-mission single player scripted campaign in which the Player will fly the Bf 110E-2 on the Battle of Moscow map. Missions are from November 15 to December 5, 1941. This time period is when the Battle of Moscow hung in the balance. It was a critical time in the war. The Germans renewed their drive on Moscow, however, their units were thin after so much fighting since June 22nd, and, the Russians have been reinforced with troops from Siberia. The Bf 110 Zerstorers of SKG 210 help in the German attempt to take the important city of Golitsyno. jokash Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Is the AI supposed to drop bombs at the same time as you,if you dont order them otherwise (with wingman orders)? So you are supposed to make one attack run as a formation over the target, maybe strafe later if conditions permit? I think this kind of information should be presented to the player in the mission briefing, to know how to approach mission exection. I have just completed mission 2 fyi,so im not sure how will i play the rest of campaign.
CzechTexan Posted April 27 Author Posted April 27 The A/I wingmen planes will seek targets and bomb on their own. 110s are more like sturmovik attack planes rather than bombers (bombers would drop bombs in formation). Drop bombs first and then strafe.
jokash Posted April 27 Posted April 27 That's why I'm asking...im mission 2 we arrived in V formation and i dropped bombs on arty and my wingmen drop bombs at the same time (but on nothing since they were bit behind the targets).
AndreiTomescu Posted April 27 Posted April 27 This is a VERY good campaign. Thus from my point of view, it was more about surviving that bombing.
jokash Posted April 27 Posted April 27 (edited) I'm just getting frustrated cause my escorting 109's are circling above doing nothing while we are getting attacked below. And now i have landed,in mission 3,destroyed 3 katusas, but next mission is not unlocked. Is the whole campaign like this? Every time we go bomb just so happens that we also right then get intercepted? Also i can scratch off survival cause i was shot down like 11 times already in this campaign and im not past mission 3 Edited April 27 by jokash

(Fire&Ice is very good, not so hard, different type on missions, also has a story to follow) until CzechTexan told me to focus on survival, just like real life. and then in one mission, forgot what number, struggled to get rid of 2 soviet fighters, managed to do that flying BETWEEN trees, and struggled to get home with 1 dead engine and 1 damaged one. And did. Had so much effort put into getting out of there alive, that I HAD to survive. Even landed without damaging the aircraft (more than it already was). The trick was that i shot down starboard engine before it collapsed, and restarted it 30 secs before landing, just in time before the port one died for good. And some claim the game is not realistic. ha! Really came to appreciate this tough bird. Called her "Goering" 🙂 after that adventure I ignored the ...ignoring escorts, put less interest into obliterating targets (but always tried to) and focused on survival.
jokash Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Well im putting this one on hold...i had too many bad experiences for now.
CzechTexan Posted April 27 Author Posted April 27 Maybe I should add the label "fly at your own risk." Do I keep things challenging, or should I make things easier? hmm
jokash Posted April 28 Posted April 28 This was my first Bf110 campaign i was expecting something like Fire and Ice (which i found yesterday).Maybe il come back later, cause in this one i have done very little zerstorering and too many being zestoren. 1
