Joystick set up - Turtle Beach Velocity One

I'm new to IL-2 and am having trouble setting up my Turtle Beach Velocity One joystick for IL-2 Great Battles.  As a sidenote, I have been able to set it up for Cliffs of Dover Blitz.  With some fiddling, I can get it to recognize the axes on my joystick and throttle in the Key Bindings, but when I go to set sensitivity etc., the virtual lever/movement scale doesn't react at all.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!
