Hey all , I am in the midst of collecting the disparate elements for a new PC build with just a couple of key elements left to be acquired and I would be most grateful for any advice regarding the amount of system RAM I should be looking at for the present and immediate future playing in the main IL2GB , IL2 Korea , DCS with a few FPS and the like .

I am aware that received wisdom recommends that for current gaming 32gig of 6000MHz DDR5 CL30 is the sweet spot for my Ryzen 9800X3D … however I am wondering whether any members have moved up from 32 gig and noticed any uptick at all in their gaming experience ? Having chosen the worst time to build a fast gaming rig this century my budget will not stretch to 64 gig however the brand that I have been looking at , KLEVV , also offers the same spec RAM in a 2 x 24 gig kit , ergo a happy medium perhaps !

Ta Muchly.

32 GB is likely to be fine for anything except DCS, for which current evidence suggests definitely needs more on some maps, with complex missions, in multiplayer etc.

I agree with @AndyJWest.

32 GB is a good number for edven sims. But if you can get 48 GB go for that.

More than a year ago I went with an Intel OC platform, so the biggest ammount I could get that I could OC was 48 GB. I was afraid it could not run other sims confidently but it certainly did. Some friends with 32 GB had issues.

48 GB is the perfect spot right now due to crazy 64 GB prices.

To sum up: I have 48 GB and do not encounter the few issues you might with 32 GB.

@AndyJWest @LuftManu Thank you for your time and advice gents most kind . I had been hanging on in the hope that we might see signs of this mythical lowering of DDR5 prices ! however aside from the occasional offer from the usual suspects in the UK prices have been stuck in concrete for most of this year so far.
