Hi, The first time that I used JSGME which was sometime ago, it was an easy operation e.g. selected and downloaded the mod, opened up the path to the mods file in great battles and placed the mod there, then opened JSGME and there is the mod in the left hand panel which I would then move to the right hand panel and then JSGME would install the mod and then it would normally show in the missions section. I have installed the latest version of JSGME , but now when I apply all of the above the JSGME panel is empty ? So has something changed !

Not sure if this should have been sent into Mods, but I thought that General Discussions may be a larger viewing option

Cheers

Usually this means that the install of JSGME doesn't see your mod folder. Have a look in the JSGME.ini files to see what the mod folder path is.

HI Stonehouse, I am about to reinstall [unzip] JSGME I am seeing a message which reads, " Setup will install JSGME into the following folder, the name of which I don't recognize ? or the option to browse what should I do !!

I was wondering if the last time I installed I may have just gone with the installation path show and place it where it could not be read by BoS ?

Not sure but essentially you need to end up with your JSGME.ini being set up correctly for JSGME to be able to see your mods folder.

EG of mine. Which unfortunately is nonstandard as I prefer my mods folder to be under the IL2 folder rather than within the JSGME folder under the IL2 folder. No specific reason or advantage - simply my preference. As a result, my active JSGME.ini is in the main IL2 folder. Hopefully you will see why when shortcuts come up below.

[MODS FOLDER]
Name=MODS
[JSGME DETAILS]
FullPath=E:\games\IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\JSGME\JSGME.exe
[FORM SIZE]
Main Height=920
Main Left=289
Main Top=114
Main Width=1019
Main WindowState=0

Not sure what you have in your ini but I believe it needs to reflect your folder structure for JSGME to work. Perhaps post the contents of your ini file (and also do a search within your IL2 folder to see if there are multiples since you have had it installed previously) and also give the actual windows path for your mods folder.

Also, if you use a shortcut on the desktop, you should look at the properties of the shortcut and make sure the "Start in" details are correct.

For me it looks like

So, with this setup, when I start jsgme via the shortcut the start in path points to the main IL2 folder, JSGME finds the ini in the Start In folder and looks in it to find the location of the mod folder. Because mine just says Name=MODS, JSGME will look in E:\games\IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\MODS for my mods.

Your set up will most likely be different and your mods will most likely be in the MODS folder within the JSGME folder as from memory that is the default.

You will probably need to post some pics of your folder structure for IL2 if the above doesn't help you.
