How do I go about installing the game on a second PC without having to buy a second copy?

I will be away from the gaming PC for like four weeks and so will rent a gaming laptop just so I can play the game.

The game will not be played on both computers at the same time.

Just use the installer from off the IL-2 site, it's your login and user name that you paid for, the game master server doesn't care which computer your flying on so long as it's only on one computer at a time. 

It's only if you have a single account active on two PC's at the same time your violating the terms and in danger of having your account binned.  Otherwise they don't care what machine you log on and fly.

I can confirm. I have had IL2 installed on both my gaming PC and laptop for a long time. I use Steam, but the same should apply to the standalone version.
