IckyAtlas Posted June 7 Posted June 7 (edited) The ALT F9 key function allows to delete the terrain map so as to have all your objects icons, links etc. visible on a black background. I used this function a lot and it did works some time ago before multiple updates. I recently needed this function as I am working on my missions and it does not work anymore. It immediately freezes / crashes the editor. I did multiple testes and it does not work. The key F9 alone does work by switching between 2D and 3D view. I use windows W11 - Version 25H2, and Nvidia RTX 4090 with latest drivers 610.47. The editor is displayed on a 43 inch screen in 4K. You must kill the editor task in the task manager to get out after it freezes. My question here, is this a bug or has the Key setting changed for this function ? Edited June 8 by IckyAtlas
kraut1 Posted June 7 Posted June 7 (edited) Alt F9 works for me as usual. Same with F9 and Ctrl F9. Switching to this mode with the black blackground works (but I am not working in this mode). Edited June 7 by kraut1
IckyAtlas Posted June 8 Author Posted June 8 Thanks, this means it is a local problem. After some search I found the solution. I was using my Logitech keyboard in a mode where to address the keys F1 to F12 you must first type the Fn+Fx key combination. So if you need the Ctrl+F2 or Shift+F3 command, then I had to type Ctrl+Fn+F2 or Ctrl+Fn+F3. This works well without issue for all the commands but with Alt+F9, that is Alt+Fn+F9 it did crash the editor. So I had to modify the keyboard's parameters so that the keys with the Functions would first act as function keys. Once this was done I tested it and when typing the Alt+F9 I got the NVidia Shadow Play recorder activated, which comes in precedence to the Editor. So that key combination was captured by NVidia Shadow Player. I changed the parameters of that command to Alt gr+F9 to avoid interference with the editor. And now the Editor reacts properly and it works perfectly. 1
