Eighty-two years ago, Allied forces launched Operation Overlord, one of the largest and most decisive military operations of World War II. The landings in Normandy marked the beginning of the liberation of Western Europe and became a symbol of courage, determination, and sacrifice. On this day, we honor everyone who took part in the operation — the soldiers who landed on the beaches, the sailors who crossed the Channel, the airmen who fought in the skies, and all those who supported the mission behind the lines.
