Orville64 Posted May 28 Posted May 28 (edited) Good evening everyone, I'm French and I have a problem with scripted campaigns. These are purchased campaigns but whatever the mission. Only the first is in readable Latin characters, the others are a series of asterisks ********* and are not playable. I found some "solutions" on the internet but none worked. In the "Iron side" campaign for example I have no files only two JPGs in the media directory. I don't understand why campaigns bought bug like that. I don't have any mods installed and whether I install the game in English or French doesn't change anything. Can you help me to have my campaigns with readable and playable missions. Attached is a screen copy to illustrate my frustration. Thank you in advance for any help you can give me. Edited May 29 by Orville64
GiftGruen Posted May 28 Posted May 28 (edited) Bon soir, Monsieur Orville. This is not a bug. Also language is not of matter. You have to finish the actual mission in a campaign before you see the content of the next. And - hey - a pilot in WW2 also just saw the next job to do 😉 Edited May 28 by GiftGruen

In official campaigns, the missions are almost all set up where you can only read the titles of the first mission until you have successfully completed that mission. As you progress, the mission name, image and briefing will stay available to read. In some free Scripted Campaigns, you can read all the mission titles and briefings before completing the mission. That is an option set by the Campaign author. On 5/28/2026 at 2:43 PM, Orville64 said: I found some "solutions" on the internet but none worked. The files for pay campaigns are not available on your computer, they are hidden to protect the campaigns from being redistributed for free. There are some inconsistencies. Majority of the campaigns have names of a missions "censored" until you do missions before them. But, for example, His Majesty's Griffons or your Odessa Defense have all mission names and briefings available even when I didn't play this campaigns yet. I still must play mission before to play next mission, but I can see names and briefings of all. Probably bug?

AEthelraedUnraed Posted May 29 Posted May 29 The idea here is that many of these campaigns feature some kind of "story". Mission descriptions may refer back to prior ones, or missions may be in response to prior actions on the battlefield. To ensure a linear chronological order, it's only possible to play the missions in the order they are designed as. For free campaigns, you can copy the missions to the Missions directory to play them in any order you want. However for paid campaigns, this is not possible in order to protect against piracy.
Orville64 Posted May 29 Author Posted May 29 Hello everyone, Thank you for your responses. 👍 I understand that these campaigns are protected. I hadn't thought of that and your explanations make it very clear. So I'm going to do the missions to display the following ones and I'm very reassured that this is not a bug. Thanks again for your help. Good flights 1
