Where are my Flight Recordings stored?

Are the Recordings stored in the game; a feature of the game itself?

Or, if it's a file in my computer: which one, please?

Thank you.

The 'recordings' are stored within the game under;

C:\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\Tracks

Be aware the game makes no recordings in the conventional sense.  It creates .trk files (or .ntrk for multiplayer) which are basically a series of digital coordinates from which the game reconstructs your flight through the flight recordings menu.

Just to be clear; the "C:\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad" part is your installation directory and depends on what you chose during the installation process. If you use Steam, it'll be in your Steam folder: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\Tracks".

Thank you, Gentlemen.

So, I'm wondering if the accessibility of IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad in my C-drive listings mean that my flight recordings are being stored in my computer, so the more I accumulate, the less remaining gigs I have?

If I go to that folder, find the files, and delete them: will that increase the available space on my C-drive?  Like emptying the Recycling Bin does?

Or, is it that, because the recordings are digitally stored in the game, they don't affect how much space I have left?

I'm guessing it's the latter.  Am I right? 🙂

The recording files do use the harddrive space of your computer. You can delete the files to free up space.

There are ways (like data bases or archives ) to store multiple files inside one file. There are technical advantages and disadvantages for doing it eiher way, but data always takes up space, no matter how it is stored.

There is an option in the IL-2 ingame menu to delete recordings. It might be better to use that function because I think one recording consists of multiple files.

If you delete files by hand and miss something, maybe you only partly delete recordings.
