Aapje Posted May 26 Posted May 26 Han said that they are working hard on fixing bugs. Perhaps they regret promising early access. 2 1

AndreiTomescu Posted May 26 Posted May 26 Yes, releasing as "clean" as possible is a wise thing. A bad reputation from the start will do huge damage for a long time. Remember the Cyberpunk 2077 tragedy?? An EXCEPTIONAL game, ruined because of buggy release. It was fixed later, but the ship had sailed. It never got the fame deserved. Rockstar is trying to avoid this with its new GTA. Although they never released with major bugs. So I think it's really wise to avoid a buggy early acces. 1 1

Cliffs of Dover never recovered really, and Team Fusion had an eternal uphill struggle - we don't even have that luxury of an external modding team with GB.
klyr Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Another exceptional case study about how to not do early access is Stormgate.
AEthelraedUnraed Posted May 27 Posted May 27 ... .- - ..- .-. -.. .- -.-- In morse code, it translates to SATURDAY. It seems we're gonna have some big announcement then. 2 1
FTC_Oakwoodson77 Posted May 28 Posted May 28 Their video might have fired off early, but the EA starts June 25th https://youtu.be/_ydlCk21dSU?is=_Zh3IDM8JFaf3pQ6 1

This private video was explicit in Early Access release on the 25th June. 😍

AEthelraedUnraed Posted May 28 Posted May 28 Well yes, 25 June makes perfect sense since the Korean War started at that date.

Aapje Posted May 28 Posted May 28 On 5/26/2026 at 8:16 PM, NevA said: Bugs are normal in early access.🤷♂️ It's all about quantity and seriousness. A certain non-military flight sim still has extremely serious bugs in career mode, a year after release. I have more confidence in the 1CGS team, but with any game that sees serious new development, there is a risk of bugs that are very serious, but that the devs have a very hard time solving.
AndreiTomescu Posted May 28 Posted May 28 Truth to be told, and leaving aside the "always discontent" type of users/persons, 1CGSC team tried to solve the problems along the years, and so they did, except some things too deep bound for the engine and profitability limitations. So I would "place a vote on confidence" (like in star wars) on them. For us to be realistic, I think this new flight sim iteration will reach its true potential in 1-2 yrs. Provided that after the hard core fans buy it, the userbase extends. Not easy to do business with only 1 product (well, now 2) in portfolio. Still, nowadays the il-2 GB is the reference flight sim, IMHO. If they manage to stay here with Korea, it will be good for all. Us, core base users, we should be a bit patient and positive: this way the comments/reviews attracts more buyers and the project expands and develops. I have great respect for the endeavour neeed to develop something sooooo complex. Come, on, it's not Tetris!!! Tried that CP demo. ....... .......... ............. Maybe they should have postponed it a bit..... So, my opinion is that after the release (early, late, better late than never) a wise approach would be to focus on the POSITIVE aspects. More exactly, to confirm that those things the devs bragg about in the diarys are true and functional. what doesn't work, i'm sure they know, and also they know that we know. And they will fix those: the hole project's succes depends on this. So, see you in the Korea skyes with hope in heart, wisdom in mind and stick in hand! 4
