This is a Pack of 2 missions made on the winter Velikie Luki map.  It is during the Russian offensive to take Velikie Luki and Novosokolniki which began on November 24 - during the same time period as Operation Mars (near Rzhev) and the counteroffensive at Stalingrad.

1. Across the Lovat - Southwest of Velikie Luki, the Soviet 28th Rifle Division and the 184th Tank Brigade (equipped with American-made M-3 Lee tanks) attacked and managed to capture a crossing over the Lovat River at Komsha, which threatened the German supply base at Opukhliki.  The geography of this area is hilly and one of the objectives is to capture a hill.  [Due to not having M-3 Lee tanks in the sim, I had to substitute the M-4 Sherman]
2. Raid on Chernozom - A platoon of T-34s must attack Chernozom Station (14 km southwest of Velikie Luki) and destroy enemy trains and supplies.  You get into action real fast on this one.  And there are a few surprises.

 

Both missions are fictitious but the historical background is real.  I just used my "what-if" imagination while getting information from the book Velikiye Luki 1942-43:  The Doomed Fortress by Robert Forczyk.
