It's shown at the 27 second mark, the Mig 15 mounted on the truck, do you know why it's in that configuration and it's intended purpose?

Correct. In 1946 the UK was short of both cash and brain cells. The Soviets were short of a decent jet engine.

One of Stalin's minions suggested asking the British government if they could buy some Rolls-Royce Derwent engines.

Stalin was scathing; "Don't be stupid. What kind of fool gives up their secrets?"

They asked anyway and over the course of the next twelve months the UK sold some fifty engines to the Soviet Union before someone in the British government said "Hang on a minute..."

Thus the Mig 15 was born.

The Soviets went onto build thousands. After the airframes became obsolete many of the engines went on to be mounted on all sorts of vehicles for snow clearance, runway deicing, etc.

The UK built several hundred twin-engined Gloster Meteors and when they became obsolete something similar happened to their engines.

About twenty years ago a friend of mine bought one of these after our local airport put in a modern deicing system.  It had started life in a Mk.8 Meteor nightfighter.

He built a spaceframe chassis around it using a 2ltr. Fiat engine and running gear. I have great memories of the sunny, Sunday afternoon in the garden of a suburban bungalow when he first got the Derwent fired up...and the expression on the faces of the very surprised policemen who turned up shortly afterwards...

Alas, my photos of this are all locked up in Photo bucket 🤨 but there is a bit of video that survives...
