In settings there is only one sequence I  can find " drop bombs mode toggle "  e.g. P-47 [ three button presses, 500ib, 1,000ib, 1,000ib ] and Bf-109 four presses for the Centre line

SC-50's   is this based on historical fact, I would like to in the P-47 let them all go with just one touch of the button, especially attacking a large target like a ship

Cheers

There isn't a ship in the sim that cannot be sunk with one 500lb. bomb.  If I go out with three bombs on a P47, I expect three ship kills.

IIRC it’s Lctrl+B, but this only works for aircraft that had historically different modes of bomb dropping (P-47 yes, Bf-109 no?)

I believe it's "Bomb mode select" or a similar name.  I have a key mapped to it, and if the aircraft has the ability to select which bombs to drop, in what order, the key will cycle through the choices.

Yeah, through bomb mode on a 47 you can set up any sort of sequence you want.  Choice of left or right wing first, or wings together, or center first, or all at once.

It all depends on the original aircrafts wiring and switch capability for each model.  A P-51B has a single circuit and can do only one release of all since it was decendant directly from the A-36 Apache dive bomber had still had its wing and wiring only slightly modified with removal of dive brakes.  While a D model was a redesign with new wiring able to select separate circuits per wing.

Same for rocket tubes, there's a control box installed in your cockpit when you select them as your load.  When you find it, there's a little window on it showing you the number selected to fire, 1,2,3, or 6.  Same rocket control box in Mustangs and 47's, just placed in different positions in the pit.

With the 109s it's just one bomb at a time. Same with the Fw 190s, unless you are using one of the specialized jabo mods like the F-8/G-8 mod on the A-8 model.

Yes, it's just modeled a bit incorrectly right now. It should fire either just one rocket at a time or all in short intervals. It's been corrected for Korea and is still on a list somewhere to be corrected for GB, hopefully.

so, at least in my opinion, it would be this -

look at the levers for dropping the bombs in front of your flight stick.  the two wing bomb levers are together, and then the center bomb is on another separate lever.  in order to pull all 3 at the same time, you would have to remove your hand from the flight stick and use both hands at the same time.  This would be unrealistic to do while flying.

We have the P-47D-22 and P-47D-28 models. The P-47D-30 introduced an electrical release using the button on top of the B-5 control grip. I understand the B-5 was  standard for several U.S. Army aircraft, which is why you see the button on top of the stick in early P-47s even before the Thunderbolt was modified to carry bombs and drop tanks.

Continuing with late war Thunderbolt production, the text is from the P-47N training manual while the photo is identified as a P-47D-40 cockpit.

I know this is modelled for the Mosquito... there is  a time delay when dropping bombs singly to simulate having to throw the switched to arm the next bomb release before pulling the trigger again.
