Greetings,

I have a recurring issue where a giant grid overlay is appearing on the terrain of my maps in flight. Usually it’s very bright and purple/magenta, sometimes white and fainter. This happens regardless of graphics settings, region, terrain type, season, camera views, altitude etc - it’s always there. Sometimes it flickers, sometimes it’s a solid line, sometimes some lines disappear and reappear but in general the grid perists.

Could it be some sort of issue with terrain tile seams rendering? Im at a loss.

For reference, I’m running the game on the Steam Deck. I know it’s not originally meant for the platform, but besides this grid issue the game runs flawlessly, even on higher settings. I can’t switch to a pc as I don’t have one so this is my only way of getting my aviation fix.. please help 😞

Same issue here on a 9070XT (Proton Experimental) -- it might need a workaround on the Proton side from Valve. Need to post it to their github issues.. sec

https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/3106

Posted. Cross fingers, maybe it's an easy thing that can be fixed from proton side.. bit of a niche userbase here (il2 + linux) so it likely was just never reported. I played a bit last year and didn't notice it so must be newer or an issue with the mesa drivers.

If you want to add a screenshot (or additional proton log, that would be super helpful) -- go ahead and toss a comment in there.
