kraut1 Posted May 2 Posted May 2 (edited) I try currently to design some coastal batteries for small finish islands in the gulf of Finland. In some pictures I have seen open concrete gun positions: The only field gun with German / Finish looking soldiers are the leFH18, sFH13. But when I tried to design a round gun position for 360° fire all gun positions, even the sandbag walls were to high. This is not a problem at ranges of 1000m and more but at point blank range the gun hits the gun position and destroys itself. I experienced this problem during a test when a 1024 gun boat passed at ca. 500m range. A small workaround is: If I modify the gun and define the placement point of the "turret" 0.5m higher, the visible graphic and the muzzle flash are correct / unchanged, but the shell does not explode at the gun position. Without mod: 2guns destroyed by own shells hitting the gun position: With mod: guns survive: @Kapteeni45 Edited May 2 by kraut1

For really small batteries on small islands the WW1 77mm Flak is okay, unmodified max. range for ship targets 2000m as all other field guns. Modified maybe 4000m could be realistic...

Kapteeni45 Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Cool Finnish Navy did have some submarines and 2 big warships. Plus of course some small ones. Italia did sent some patrolboats to Lake Laatokka, and maybe to Lake Ääninen too.
