JG123410 Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Hi, The Scripted Campaign section of the forums seemed to be mainly about posting links and ideas for campaigns so I didn't think my post belonged over there. I just wanted to say the Allmost campaign so far has been really nice. I like the concept and design. Flight times don't seem too long. The music at the end of the mission is neat also. I used the link in the first message of the old post ( https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/34410-allmost-a-sp-campaign-for-a-wingman-bf-109f-2/) and resaved all missions in the FMB. I am only a few missions in but I highly recommend this campaign. Question - Does the game penalize you for leaving formation? Just curious if that kind of thing was a factor? 1
AndreiTomescu Posted April 26 Posted April 26 The Allmost campaign is an incredible, one of a kind, sometimes weird but always outstanding campaign. It's an old school type of campaign, with fixed goals that must be completed. Not the game penalize you, but the mission logic. Braking formation very often slows down formation speed, affects event triggers, or even failes the mission. For example, take the first mission: you must follow the leader. If not, you'll get warnings. Over 2-3 of those and you've failed the mission. If I remember right, I've done this campaign several times, along the yrs, but the last time was a couple of years ago. When/if I'll quit this sim, this campaign and War in the Channel will be my goodbye ones. 1
JG123410 Posted April 26 Author Posted April 26 Thanks @AndreiTomescu. Those are good points you bring up and thanks for the information. Very nice campaign for sure 😀
mrtomek Posted April 27 Posted April 27 I've finished this fantastic campaign few months ago. I remember that one mission (this with nice cinematic introduction and he-111 escort) seems to be bugged. One aircraft during taxi was hitting a parked car in every mission replay (I managed to repair it's route in mission editor), but what is more important no matter how many times i tried (staying in formation or not), my section was circling infinitely around airport at low altitude. I had to fly the route and escort bombers on my own to finish this mission, but it worked. Except few missions you don't have to stay in formation. As you can see in editor, it will be only displaying annoying cautions, but without any penalty. But this is really nice campaign with very interesting and unique missions that you can replay many times with fun. PS. With More cultivated Moscow map mod it looks even better for me. 1
sandmarken Posted April 27 Posted April 27 I agree also! Allmost is a very good campaign, on my top list!
AndreiTomescu Posted April 27 Posted April 27 2 hours ago, mrtomek said: I managed to repair it's route in mission editor could you post here the fixed version, please? since it's fixed, this is actually a campaign update, and keeping this campaign updated makes it live longer! Thank you ! 2 hours ago, mrtomek said: my section was circling infinitely around airport at low altitude. I had to fly the route and escort bombers on my own yes, i remember this also, after some game updates happened. did the same as you, the lone ranger to the rescue ! 🙂 2 hours ago, mrtomek said: As you can see in editor, it will be only displaying annoying cautions, but without any penalty on my old, old, old version of the campaign, 3 warnings = mission failed. like at my kids school ! 🙂 1
mrtomek Posted April 28 Posted April 28 But I didn't managed to fix this mission completely to work as author planned (or well enough). I tried changing parameters of waypoints of our section or even deleting many useless waypoints, but they still are circling by airfield at low level like idiots and some text scripts and triggers still don't seem to work. I think that some specialist of mission editor should look at this very interesting campaign.
taffy2 Posted May 1 Posted May 1 I well remember "Almost " from years ago, so I have re-installed and flying again. it is , as mentioned a one of a kind of campaign. It will not allow you to switch on auto pilot if you do, flaps and undercarriage will drop, that's why I think it's more of a test of our flying skills. One mission my flight decided to turn back for no reason and just flew round in circles, In the mission description it mentioned that if in case of an emergency land at an airfield marked on the map, I found it landed and completed the mission. That's why I say it has been well thought out. Cheers 1
