PROXIMVS Posted April 26 Posted April 26 I have to state the only thing in this new version of Il-2 I find that is better than the original is the graphics. The expense of this version gives me great pause. The old version was more flexible and had greater offline playability with the mission builder that allowed me to run historical campaigns. But, I also miss the ability to put the flaps on my quadrant lever. In the original, one could do that. In this version trying to use the flaps in a dogfight is suicidal because I have to take my eyes off of the bad guy and look at my wing before extending them as to where in the original I could do it by feel. I really think they should have just redone the graphics in the original. I miss P-39's and the Pacific despite the wildly exaggerated propensity of the P-39 to flat spin.😢 1

PROXIMVS Posted April 26 Author Posted April 26 @Drewm3iVR Yes, to this version of the game. Old hand at the original. Can the flaps be set on a quadrant lever? I haven't been able to find it. @jokash My jury's still out on that one. I'll grant it might have been, though. The dive whine is still absent. But, that was also true of the original.

I succeeded in manage this by use of hidhide + vjoy + gremlin. Somewhat work to figure out how it all works together, but maybe worth a try.

Thank you.

FuriousMeow Posted May 3 Posted May 3 What is "dive whine?" The Stuka's siren that's inserted into every air combat situation when planes go the slightest nose down in movies? 1
