This year marks the 65th anniversary of the first human spaceflight - Yuri Gagarin’s flight on April 12, 1961, after which the sky was no longer the limit.

But the path to this moment began earlier - in aviation, with pilots and aircraft, with the first steps into speed, altitude, and the jet age.

And that is why this date holds another important chapter. On April 12, 1951, one of the most notable air battles of the Korean War took place - known as “Black Thursday,” where hundreds of aircraft clashed: 48 B-29 Superfortress bombers, supported by around 90–100 F-84 Thunderjet and F-86 Sabre fighters, against 30–40 MiG-15 jet fighters.

This engagement became one of the moments when jet aviation began to redefine the rules of air combat - just as space would later redefine the limits of what was possible.

The events of “Black Thursday” are reflected in our cinematic.
