GenMarkof007 Posted April 4 Author Posted April 4 (edited) The short storyline of the Battle of Logovsky — West of Stalingrad - '42! This mission will be played on the Stalingrad map. ---- On July 27, 1942, elements of the German 4th Panzer Army launched an offensive against the village of Logovsky, a key defensive point held by the Soviet 56th Tank Brigade on the western approaches to Stalingrad. GenMarkof007 Posted April 4 Author Posted April 4 (edited) S! All IL-2 Tankers and pilots, the next AAS-SCG PvP TC Event will occur: Sunday, April 19 at 7:00 p.m. Paris Time (1 pm EST - NA) --- A few questions & answers to help you with your first time in the PvP TC Event --- Q1: At what time should I get on AAS Chat Discord? A: Each team (player) should be online on the AAS Team Chat Discord at least 15-20 minutes before the start of the event so that you can organize and talk strategy. We might wait a few minutes so that we have enough tankers to start the mission. Thanks for your understanding. Q2: What must I do when I spawn inside the mission? A: When you enter the mission, please zoom the map area so that you can see the Tank spawns (or Airfield) and select the one you want to spawn in. Be careful, if you spawn on the wrong side, a penalty of 120 minutes (2 hours) will be incurred to respawn on your own side. Q3: When I spawn, where do I go for the Battle (after the mission start signal)? A: When you spawn, you will see base signs. Just follow the arrows. If you see signs (Do not pass = noway), that means this is not the way to the Battle. Q4: How do I repair, refuel or rearm (RRR)? A: For tankers, refuel, repair, and rearm points are available at each tank spawn location. To use them, you must stop your engine near the designated support truck. Airfields are also equipped with refuel/repair/rearm trucks. Additionally, a Forward Operating Airfield (refuel only), supported by an ammo truck, has been placed near the battle area for both teams. This location is visible only to your team. Q5: Why do I need to stay in the Black Zone Area for tanks? A: Since the main task for the Allies is to defend the flag and for the Axis to capture it, this will give you enough space for the main battles (battle zone is around 6000 m). ---- Q6: Why is the flag not moving when I am beside it? A: If the flag is not moving, a good chance an enemy tank is near the radius of the flag. You need to eliminate it before the flag can move. Q7: Why is the flag moving very slowly? (not like on other MP servers) A: The overall time that the flag needs to be taken by the Axis (overall time is 18-20 minutes), so that the Allies may counter that attack and retake the flag. You don't need to move the flag at the top. Q8: Why do I need to download the skin packs on the HSD version 2? A: These skin packs (AAS) and (SCG) are made to have a more immersive time when tanking or flying in multiplayer missions or PvP TC events. Also, most tank skins are made by the IL-2 Tank Crew community. Q9: Why am I always getting disconnected from the server? A: If your PING (Internet connection) is too high, you might get disconnected. We are trying our best to keep the tick delay below 7, which helps the server's CPU! Q10: Why are we using this tank set? A: For each (PvP TC Event), we are trying to find the tanks that will fit the best with the scenario. As you know, the number and types of tanks are limited in the IL-2 Tank Crew module. Q11: Why fictional battles? A: We are always looking for interesting new missions for our TC PvP Event. Often, we have to design a fictional battle because we lack missions, maps, tanks, planes, and more! ---- --> Q12: I don’t have the IL-2 Tank Crew module. Can I still take a tank? A: Yes. We’ve included the free tanks (T-34 1942 and Pz III L), so players without the Tank Crew module can still participate as tankers. Multicrew is also available, but please make sure to ask before joining another player’s tank. Q13: Why are some of the mods locked for tanks and planes? A: Since this is primarily a Tank Crew mission, we have decided to restrict the use of the big bombs for planes. Additionally, we have limited some modifications and payloads for tanks. To select mods (available), just choose the ones you want. Q14: If I'm not able to play the complete 3 hours? A: No worries, just let your commander know. That way, he might use another strategy when you leave. We kindly request that most players stay the full 3 hours so that you can support your team until the end. Q15: Can we give some comments after the event? A: Absolutely, we will conduct a post-mortem meeting with all participants in the Bar-English channel on AAS Discord. Everyone is welcome to join us. Please be mindful when sharing your thoughts, whether they are positive or negative, as this will be very helpful! We are aiming to reach 40 players and more, so please spread the word to all your friends! Everyone is welcome to join us. Good Luck to all pilots and tankers! ---- Cheers, GenMarkof007 ---- Edited April 15 by GenMarkof007
GenMarkof007 Posted April 4 Author Posted April 4 (edited) ---- A few tips to help with your team strategy ---- 1. There's no need to have the flag at the top after capturing it. Why? When flags are positioned lower, they are harder to see and locate. 2. Flak trucks serve more purposes than just shooting down planes; they can also be used as reconnaissance vehicles due to their speed. 3. While travelling on roads is generally faster, it’s often more beneficial to go off-road when entering a town, as most teams tend to cover the roads. 4. For defenders (the Allies), it's crucial to locate the flag at the start of the game and share this information with your team. This makes it easier to defend if the Axis captures it. 5. Keep air support communications open, so you can easily request air assistance when needed. 6. Try to use the tanks or planes that you know how to fly/combat with. For the heavy tanks, try to verify with your commander if you can take one. Here are some helpful reminders to prepare you for the day of the event: - Please download the skin collections for AAS (Advance & Secure) and SCG (SCG Tank Regiment) from the HSD version 2. This will ensure you have the latest skins for both the Allied and Axis factions. - Make sure to join the AAS Discord at least 15-20 minutes before the event. This will allow you to connect with your team, discuss the overall strategy, and obtain the server name and password for the event. - The weather will only be confirmed 48 hours before the event. The latest front report indicates it should be very cloudy. - The mission will last for 3 hours, with an additional 10 minutes of waiting time before the start signal. - Intelligence (recon photos) is available to commanders and players. - Please wait for the official start signal (siren) and start message before departing from the tank bases or airfields. - Tankers must remain inside the Black Zone during Tank Battles. If you notice a tanker on your side not adhering to this rule, please inform them. - Multicrewing is allowed; please ask for permission before entering any tank on your side as a crew member. - For this event, we request that grass is set to ON (IL-2 game settings), ensuring all tankers have an equal playing field. - Stay tuned for any other late info from the Battle Zone... ---- About the flag in town ---- Here’s a clearer version of how the official flag works. Please note that the official flag remains neutral until one of the teams captures it. If the Russian team takes the flag first, they will receive a message indicating that they have captured it. Both teams will be informed that the defending team has found and taken the flag. If any Axis players are near the flag (but haven’t taken it yet), a message will be sent to both teams notifying them of an Axis tank's proximity to the flag. When the Axis team captures the flag, a message will be sent to both teams, and the capture counter will begin (which requires the defending team to capture back the flag before 19-20 minutes). --> If the Russian team recaptures the flag, the counter will reset to zero. So, at the start of the mission, each team need to try and find the flag inside the town (by tanks or planes). It will always spawn in the city/town half where the defending team starts from. ---- Aerial recon photos ---- We have just received aerial photos of the Village of Logovsky area, captured just before the weather made it impossible for any planes to fly over. While the visuals are not of the highest quality, they may still assist each team and the commanders. Special thanks to the pilots who made this possible—it was not an easy flight! Cheers, GenMarkof007 ---- Edited April 15 by GenMarkof007 1 1
