Buffo002 Posted April 1 Posted April 1 (edited) Campaign download link: https://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads4&file=details&id=887 So I overcame the hardest obstacle, I changed the map to Smolensk and the surrounding area, that is, the names of the cities. But even so, it's enough for an air campaign. I have the basic pattern, I still have to learn how to edit the text. And then changes to the objectives, mission type and objects and aircraft, but that shouldn't be a problem. Here, according to the scenario, I wanted to do 15 missions and then the map would change to Rzhev-Moscow, etc. (the worst thing would be to somehow replace the Crimea map) it's a shame that there are no online maps available. We'll see But for the sake of demonstration, I'll add at least this first mission from Smolensk, Stuk escort to the target near the city of Dubnovo. Which one is not finished yet, texts, etc. 😊 I tried to give the city names as accurately as possible according to the IL-2 1946 map. Edited May 9 by Buffo002 1
kraut1 Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Just for your information: You have used EMG, it is possible to modify in EMG the airfield names and the name of the "frontline". Airfields have to be renamed in the maps.json and in the airfields group of the CoopTemplate_VELIKIELUKI.Mission exactly in the same way. 1

I moved the front lines and adjusted the aircraft waypoints, almost everything, so I'm getting into it, we'll see, I'll check it out, but this seems easy to me, I'll just copy it to other missions and adjust it, but the map will remain with those names. But I say the problem will be, how to replace the map for CRIMEA. I don't know if I would skip it and continue, but there are a lot of missions. 🙂

(very much work) The mapstiles for Velikiye Luki are in the maps8.gtp I had already extracted them: https://www.mediafire.com/file/6u9rylfkgmhuwks/VL-mapstiles.zip/file Here an example for a Map Mod (For the mod I have used only 1 detail level to reduce the work) https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/89214-kurland-kurzeme-194445-mod-v06-released-12102025/
Buffo002 Posted April 1 Author Posted April 1 (edited) So for now I'm only sending the first mission from the upcoming JG-52 East front campaign for testing. The map has been changed with the city titles to the Smolensk region. I've also edited the text a bit. Hopefully I'll be able to edit more and more missions. But thanks for the advice anyway. We'll see about Crimea later. April 17, 2026 I deleted the old mission because it was just unfinished work for demonstration purposes. Here I am finishing the first mission, which is complete with effects. 🙂 JG-52 East.zip Edited April 17 by Buffo002

Buffo002 Posted April 10 Author Posted April 10 Hi, I'm just showing how the work on the new campaign is continuing, slowly but surely. Of course, I have to add something to some missions, finish them, effects, AI, etc., but it's not that scary anymore. The only problem is still the mission ending. But that will change over time. This is just a demonstration of how the work on my campaign is continuing... it's still far from the end, but just a demonstration so that you can get an idea of what's going to happen. The texts are short, but I don't really like long writing. It's like IL-2 CoD, where one text is in my native language, Czech, and the other text is in English (translator).
CzechTexan Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Keep it up @Buffo002 A warm welcome to the newest mission builder! Jen tak dál! Vřelé vítání u nejnovějšího stavitele misí! (Google translation) 2
Buffo002 Posted April 13 Author Posted April 13 I've been on the Moscow map since mission 16, so hopefully it will go better. It's a shame that not all airports are available for mission setup on EMG, but it can be done somehow, using the closest bases from the ones in the log.
Buffo002 Posted April 14 Author Posted April 14 My colleague Kraut1 advised me how to set the mission ending so that it is completed and the player can continue, thank you very much for the advice. My biggest problem has been overcome and so far 17 missions have been completed. So I will continue on the Moscow map and it should be without any problems, I will work on this map until mission 40 (according to the pilot's diary scenario). Then the biggest problem will be how to replace the Crimea map. I will probably improvise with more maps, because from mission 41 Crimea is planned. So we will see, it is mainly about the battles for Sevastopol, we will see. The interior and some of the coast can be replaced and the Kerch map is there. 1
AndreiTomescu Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Great job you've doing here, @Buffo002! Thx! If you ever need hyper detailed info about the battles concerning the evacuation of Sevastopol, I have a heap amount of info. Saw it your screenshots some IAR, are you using that plane also in this campaign? 1

Saw it your screenshots some IAR, are you using that plane also in this campaign? It certainly won't be a problem, because I know that in Crimea and near Stalingrad there were Romanian, Slovak and Italian units, so I definitely plan to involve these Romanian Air Force planes. The question remains for now, the map of Crimea, especially Sevastopol, if there was at least one map where there is the sea from the south and a protrusion of land from the north... we'll see in any case the west, north, inland and maybe even the eastern part, it could be used and fortunately there is also the Kerch map. But if it's not a problem for you, I'd be happy for any material. Thank you very much. I plan to publish the first 40 missions for download in the first 1/3 or even 1/4, it's on the Moscow map until December. And then I don't know how many more I'll publish, but the missions will be together with the first ones, if you copy them with the original ones, the state of your last play will not change, i.e. For example, if you have 35 missions and you copy it, you will get more missions, but you will continue, I think it depends on the settings, I recommend not deleting the mission after finishing it, so that you play it all over again from the beginning, it is set somewhere and I can't remember where. Maybe I have it set that way as the creator... I don't know, I have it set that way. If someone wants to play again from the beginning, they go into the campaign and there is a button for that and everything is deleted and they start over. 😉 But the IAR aircraft would not be a fly-by, because it is about the JG-52 of the German fighter group. That would have to create a campaign specifically for the Romanian Air Force and I don't have the documents or materials, so far only as an AI aircraft. Edited April 17 by Buffo002 1

Buffo002 Posted April 24 Author Posted April 24 Hello, please advise. I didn't believe it at first, but I managed to create a mission (I don't even know how) that is in slow motion, as if it were at 1/2 speed. Has this happened to anyone when creating a mission?

Your mission must be too crowded for your PC to handle it, try reducing the quantity of active entities and it should be back to normal speed. 1 My single player campaigns: "Fortress Stalingrad" "Hunter in the snow" "Battlefield Kerch" "Ruspoli at the gates of Odesa"
Buffo002 Posted April 25 Author Posted April 25 I know, I overdid it with ground objects and especially smoke. Thank you very much. 😇
Buffo002 Posted April 26 Author Posted April 26 I need help, the mission names are confusing and they are saved well in ME. They are also displayed differently if I open it sideways, which is what I have missions that I create and then copied directly into the campaign. I don't understand that the file is damaged?
Buffo002 Posted April 26 Author Posted April 26 The last picture shows how it opens in the campaign with the wrong name, it should be Buffo028, like in the previous pictures from ME. It's saved there, the fact is that it doesn't want to save in ME the first time, but I overwrote it and saved it. It's possible that it's in some cache somewhere, but it's been many days since I restarted the PC many times, I don't understand it.
Buffo002 Posted April 29 Author Posted April 29 Is there a button (in the Mission Editor) that checks and automatically edits a saved mission?
Vendigo Posted April 29 Posted April 29 If you're having trouble with the way mission names are displayed, go to the folder named "data" and delete the treecache files (ctreecache, mtreecache, ttreecache). My single player campaigns: "Fortress Stalingrad" "Hunter in the snow" "Battlefield Kerch" "Ruspoli at the gates of Odesa"
Buffo002 Posted April 29 Author Posted April 29 IT'S ALREADY APPROACHING 40 MISSIONS TO THE FIRST CAMPAIGN PUBLISHING. It's just that the 2 mission names are spoiling it, I don't know what to do with it.
Buffo002 Posted April 30 Author Posted April 30 How do I create a link to download a larger file to download the campaign? 😞 Is it possible for me to send it to someone via message if they take that size and they give a download link? 17,5 MB
