If it will be the same nonsense in Korea, it is a VR NoGo. Eye tracking wouldn´t change the problem. Nausea is the main reason VR will never be mainstream anyhow. Nausea and vertigo is the reason many potential pilots washed out of training. It's the same issue with using VR in a flight simulator. I have no problem with extreme roller coasters, barrel rolls and loops in a small plane, deep sea fishing in 8 foot swells, or VR. Some others are not so lucky. Talisman Posted May 26 Posted May 26 Dear Developers, Now we are getting near to early access I would like to ask if IL-2 Korea will be available in VR with DFR/eye tracking. Any information you are able to share regarding this issue would be gratefully received. Thank you in anticipation. Happy landings, Talisman
1C Game Studios LukeFF Posted May 26 1C Game Studios Posted May 26 No, this is not planned. We have already investigated foveated rendering and conducted several tests. In our current DX12 deferred rendering pipeline, it shows only a very small performance benefit (less than 10%), which is not significant enough to justify implementation. In forward rendering, it can provide noticeable gains, but that is not the approach we use, as deferred rendering allows us to support the full range of graphical features in the project. We continue to research and prototype such technologies, but we only implement features that provide a real, measurable benefit to the user experience. 2
Mainstay Posted May 30 Posted May 30 (edited) Does this mean I don’t have to use steamvr anymore on my pimax crystal to play il2 Korea? I hate steamvr and it’s always bugged and acting weird for me…. Edited May 30 by Mainstay

Aapje Posted May 31 Posted May 31 Backup the old openvr_api.dll file in the game folder and replace it with this one: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/88670-dont-update-opencomposite/#comment-1340949_wrap That should work. 2

LuftManu Posted June 1 Posted June 1 @MainstayHi! From Dev Blog 52, the team wrote this: New options include the choice of virtual reality API (Open VR or Open XR), the degree of image scaling using FSR (and now DLSS) technology, the inclusion of the pilot’s body in the first-person view, and a special VR-optimized graphics preset. https://media.il2-korea.com/news/dd_52 So you will be able to chose how to use VR and not depend on SteamVr 🙂 PS: I remember you from other sims and your cockpit re-textures! Had a blast with them. Really good to see you onboard 🙂 1 Rig: RTX 5090 ASUS TUF / Ryzen 9850 X3D /Gigabyte X870E Pro X3D Motherboard / 48 GB DDR5 Teamgroup 8000 MT/s / MSI 321 URX QD-OLED 32" 4K
YoYo Posted June 8 Posted June 8 Can I use Open XR Toollkit with IL-2 Korea? Can any of the beta testers 😉 confirm that OXRT works in the new title (in IL-2 BoX, everything is fine and OXRT works for me). Home cockipt: GPU RTX5090, CPU i7 13900, RAM 64Gb. | Webmaster of yoyosims.pl. VR flying only.
Aapje Posted June 8 Posted June 8 In theory that should work fine, with the caveat that Open XR Toolkit is no longer supported. 1

That's right, but it still works in every simulator I have, DCS, BMS, IL-2 or MSFS and everything is fine.
