Jarg1 Posted March 3 Posted March 3 (edited) I recently ran into a problem while attempting the 2nd mission in the Hornet's Nest campaign. It is at night. The cockpit visuals are great, but the view outside is so poor it is practically unplayable. The only time I can see the ground while flying is over the coastline, where the reflecting light on the water contrasts with land. I'm using PCL. I've been trying various settings both on the Pimax app and in the IL2 settings, but so far nothing makes any difference. In comparison I have loaded the same mission using a monitor and the ground is quite clear at night. I'm in the process of installing MSFS to see if the problem is specific to IL2 but in the meantime I wanted to see if anyone else has noticed anything similar and if there are any solutions. Jarg1 Posted March 4 Author Posted March 4 I set up a night flight in MSFS2020, in NW France by the channel at night and the visibility in VR was good. I used the same PCL settings so I think I can eliminate the device as the culprit. I will continue testing various settings in IL2. I know that it may not be fixable but hope not. I think being able to fly the night missions would be a fun challenge. Quote
Gutholz Posted March 5 Posted March 5 What map, time and weather is that? I just tried: map: Rheinland Summer time: 01:00 night weather: some clouds With Quest 2 the visibility seems better than on my flat screen. It is more difficult than during day time though of course. Trees can be hard to see. I was able to taxi, take off and land in Ju87. Spotted driving trucks/jeeps, which was actually easier thanks to their lights. Also found them again when their stopped beside the road/turned lights off. I missed most bombs and shots but that had little to with night time. 🙃 Quote
