FTC_Oakwoodson77 Posted March 3 Posted March 3 No plans for helicopters in IL2 Korea was a very sad piece of news, I hope the developers will reconsider their stance at some point. Otherwise a lot of promise everywhere and actual functioning drop tanks have been shown off! Still, is the 84 player limit really can not be overcome? Surely with modern day hardware closer to a hundred players should be doable? Quote
Reisen Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Enigma makes it sound like the devs are now being noncommittal about doing the Pacific next which has me worried. Quote

Pacific would be great and the carriers would help towards that but I almost think Vietnam wouldn't be a bad choice now that they're pushing into jet territory. There are a handful of work-in-progress projects with a focus on the Pacific right now but we still lack both dedicated Korea and Vietnam theatre sims, they could knock out two birds with one stone here and basically own this corner of the sim market. Still, the Pacific would also be an excellent choice and I'm as keen as anyone for a sim with a focus there. 1 Quote
timothy55 Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Wow! what a day for the IL2 series, Korea , Great Battles and a Korea steam page , for ourselves the simulation players what a year this is going to be, absolutely brilliant. Really impressed by the IL2 Korea interface , really organised and thought out. Quote

The devs keep doing this weird thing where they either hint so heavily that it is completely obvious, or they outright state what they will do, and then later they pretend that everything is still up in the air. 1 2 Quote

Very true, hopefully this is another example. I don't think I'd be interested enough in anything else to buy it. Pacific or bust! 1 Quote

Twiddling their thumbs will pay no bills...IMHO WW2 pacific depends on their status with regard to a carrier module. If they have something ready like say the DCS supercarrier, then my guess is that for 2027 we will see development of a WW2 pacific module. Quote

You're likely correct here, Pacific would make more sense in the short term as Vietnam would bring missiles and radar into the mix and those would be pretty ambitious undertakings, factor in helicopters, etc and it's a whole new ball of wax. The foundation is somewhat there though, we'll see if it ever goes that way, certainly not in 2027 though. Quote
Dash,Polder Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Wrong, should Korea become a success in both popularity and sales the obvious thing to do is push onward to fullfill it. It's not even close to being half way filled with the major weapons and possibilites and it's incompletion will become more evident as time passes. And besides, they're already working on that very direction having made a strong move already with the mystery bonus set to founders. Koreas successful release is a sure path for at least one major expansion if not two. You always go for the secure path in business first, than take the risk on with the accumulated energy of success. 1 Quote
GiftGruen Posted March 4 Posted March 4 (edited) Well - first of all am happy to see this new ( and it seems to be ) level of IL2 simming. Good feeling to have it pre-ordered and paid already 🙂 ...so now, I just have to wait for a christmas in summer. Regarding Pacific vs Vietnam. I'd way more happily torpedoo a carrier - than throwing Napalm and just waiting if there are defense rockets. But -hey - that's just my 5 cents. Edited March 4 by GiftGruen 1 Quote
