Hoss Posted February 19 Posted February 19 (edited) I've seen much about system requirements, VR, and other concerns from fellow IL2 simmers. I'm hoping that 1C has reached out to HOTAS manufactures and are collaborating on getting their products working as advertised in this Sim like they do in other Sims. My one overriding concern is FFB systems, Moza, WW, and other HOTAS companies who provide us with these fantastic products. I have made the leap into FFB with the Moza AB9, and it is a night and day difference between the AB9 and my now shelved AVA base with the new dampers, cams and heavy spring for extensions installed. My experience in IL2 GB is not as good as my experience in the "Other" sim, the P-47, Mustang, Mossie, Spitfire, F-86, and Mig-15 are alive with FFB. I know the new Beta testers being sorted out now may have some sort of FFB device in their Sim Cockpit. It's going to be interesting to see how it pans out over the closed beta period of testing, hopefully they can provide good feedback to 1C on how its seen, and delivering telemetry to FFB devices. And communication to FFB manufactures so they can put IL2 Korea in their software beta testing sections. But Moza Cockpit Software will not see IL2 Korea as an installed game with a path to the game. So getting correct telemetry from the game may be a problem. Good Luck and I hope the testing goes well and these HOTAS systems are not overlooked. Cheers Edited February 19 by Hoss 1 Quote
Aapje Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Moza already has great trouble with supporting the already published games, where they seem to let their customers do the testing. So I don't see them adding support for Korea before it is released, even if they would get access to it. My expectation/hope is that DirectFFB will work at the start and that telemetry support will be added to Cockpit later on. Telemetry might be similar to the GB telemetry and not that much effort to support, or it may be changed a lot. 1CGS hasn't told us anything about it. You can make Moza work with IL-2 GB by just editing the config files of the game. Moza Cockpit can do the configuration for you (assuming you don't have other telemetry-based hardware, because then you need to manually edit anyway), but it is not needed. So if Cockpit doesn't support Korea yet, you can probably just get it to work by editing the config files. 1 Quote
Donik Posted Saturday at 01:41 AM Posted Saturday at 01:41 AM I also have the AB9. I'd be absolutely flabbergasted if Korea launched without direct input force feedback. You don't need dedicated game support from Moza for that. What you will need from Moza is telemetry support, and as Aapje indicated, we're probably going to be waiting a while for that. Moza takes 1 step forward and 2 steps back with every update they push out. And this hardware has been out nearly 2 years. Even if they did have telemetry support at launch, half of it wouldn't work as intended and the other half would break on their next update. I can't wait to see what FFB hardware comes out from Virpil or WinWing this year. I've only had the AB9 since December and I'm ready to move on simply due to their update incompetence. Quote
Aapje Posted Saturday at 02:12 PM Posted Saturday at 02:12 PM Well, I've been enjoying the AB9 for 1.5 years now and Winwing/WINCTRL has delayed their base repeatedly, and it may not even work for my setup. Virpil has given no indication when they will release theirs and with them there is also questions about setup options and pricing. So I'm enjoying my bird in the hand for now. So far I've found an older firmware + setup that I'm happy with and sticking with that for now. 1 Quote
Donik Posted Sunday at 01:09 AM Posted Sunday at 01:09 AM Yeah for all the trash talk, I am enjoying my AB9. I too have found a software/firmware combo that works well for me. Quote
