The Beginning_IAR80A is an 8-mission single player scripted campaign in which the Player will fly the IAR80A on the Odessa map.  Missions are at the beginning of Operation Barbarossa, June 22 through July 1, just before Operation Munchen.  The ground war is static during the first week of the war but the air war has already begun.

 

*Notes:  You MUST HAVE the Odessa and Leningrad module for the ODESSA MAP and the IAR80.

A mission is successful when an enemy aircraft is destroyed or the player makes a successful landing.  

If target objectives are completed then it is not necessary to make a landing.

Missions are AIRSTART except for the last three which start on the runway.

Mission descriptions are in English-only, sorry.

Note for future Sim updates:  Whenever Great Battles is updated, mission files get broken and must be updated, again and again, rendering them unplayable.  In order to fix the missions, open the IL-2 Sturmovik Mission Editor... in the TOOLS dropdown list, choose "Resave All Missions in Folder" and navigate to the Campaigns and/or Missions folder in your computer (IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles/data/Campaigns) and click "OK".

Sorry, but I'm afraid there is no chance for an update with runway starts.  These missions were edits of the I-153 campaign and in order for the timing to work right I had to make the IAR's start in the air.  In the future, I do plan to make another IAR campaign - with runway starts.

Thanks CT, An excellent mix of missions, I enjoy flying the 80 and with the twin 20mm selected she is pretty good dog fighter.

Great to know, I hope in another early actions of Romanian, like this Odessa campaign!
