Thanks again, I have removed the Beach Head on the southern coast and instead of it I have created the missing Cape Zyuk landing. All 4 Beach Heads in the template in the frontline from ca. 26th december to ca. noon 28th december. In the next front from ca. 28th dec afternoon to ca. 29th dec. there will be only 2 left, 2 retaken by german troops of the 46th Division. After this the 46th will retreat to west... sandmarken Posted August 22 Posted August 22 Fabulous work! I wish this was done before I made the little brother campaign! It could simulate more accurately how the IAR 80s jumped between airfields protecting the sea routes! 😁 1
kraut1 Posted August 29 Author Posted August 29 (edited) Yesterday I have loaded my improvised russian landing barges with vehicles for 26th December 41 landings. The turrets of the vehicles loaded on the barges are active and will engage enemies. And there is a ? at the marking. https://wwii.germandocsinrussia.org/pages/1436249/map Planned landings on the southern coast were scrapped, according to my source: "Assault squadron "B" was formed to land the 105th Mountain Rifle Regiment in the vicinity of Opuk Hill." "For a variety of reasons, the landing detachment "B" in the Opuk Hill sector did not take place. Reasons included mistakes permitted by the detachment command, as well as bad weather. Finally, the 105th Mountain Rifle Regiment was landed in the Kamysh-Burun sector, where the assault force of the Kerch Naval Base had landed previously." 1 AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-core processor 3.6 GHz, 8 GB RAM; with AMD Radeon RX6600XT 8 GB VRAM.
CzechTexan Posted September 5 Posted September 5 "...the Azov Flotilla landed 1,378 men, 3 tanks, 4 guns, and 9 mortars in the Cape Zyuk sector, and 1,452 men, 3 tanks, and 4 guns in the Cape Khroni sector on 26th December. Chiefly as a result of bad weather, and partly because of enemy resistance, landings were not possible in other sectors. At the same time, on the east shore of the Kerch Peninsula the Kerch Naval Base landed 19 men at Eltigen, about 500 men north of Eltigen, more than 1,600 men at Kamysh-Burun, and 55 men at Staryy Karantin. The bad weather, which worsened in the evening of 26 December, prevented further reinforcement of the landing forces until 28 December, by which time they had succeeded in consolidating on shore. The Azov Flotilla and the Kerch Naval Base by 30 December brought the total strength of the assault troops of the Fifty-first Army to 12,525 men, which created a dangerous situation for the German Forty-sixth Army Corps." Other notes: "...not one of the detachments arrived at the assigned landing sectors on time, and the assault actually commenced during daylight hours. The number of fire support ships (three gunboats of the Azov Flotilla, carrying light artillery) was completely inadequate for support of the landing on the north shore of the Kerch Peninsula." "the landing on the east shore of the strait was supported by coastal and field artillery batteries emplaced on the Taman Peninsula...and to a certain degree by the guns and machine guns of the patrol boats and torpedo boats" "There was practically no air cover for the landing." "On 29 December, detachment "A" ships successfully repelled fourteen attacks made by enemy bomber groups (three to five each)." 1 AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-core processor 3.6 GHz, 8 GB RAM; with AMD Radeon RX6600XT 8 GB VRAM.
JollyJack Posted September 6 Posted September 6 (edited) You made me search ..... a great source for some historical IL2 missions, especially with added ships? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azov_Flotilla Alas the Azov area is not on the Kuban map .. Edited September 6 by JollyJack 1

I have added a heavy 152mm howitzer battery Group and a EMG artillery objective on Kosa Tuzla to the EMG template that will support the Kamysh Burun Beach Head: 2
CzechTexan Posted September 6 Posted September 6 Would Soviet batteries at Gaduchiy Kut on Taman be able to reach (fire upon) the Eltigen area? If so, this could be another artillery target for the Axis. AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-core processor 3.6 GHz, 8 GB RAM; with AMD Radeon RX6600XT 8 GB VRAM.

If so, this could be another artillery target for the Axis. The ML20 152mm could hit Eltigen from this position, with the maximum possible range. I have not shown the Eltigen Beach Head in the EMG template because according to my sources the landing there was directly repulsed by the German defenders in the very early morning. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Kerch_Peninsula https://warfarehistorynetwork.com/article/soviet-disaster-in-the-crimea/And I found another single map: Spoiler But it will be possible to simulate an additional landing at Eltigen by manual mission design with ME. kraut1 Posted September 16 Author Posted September 16 I have checked the historical data about the Soviet offensive between 10....13.04.1944: The last frontline for combat missions on the extended map area is 13. April 1944, ca. 8:00...9:00 in the morning (Ислям-Терек taken).

And the 1943 Eltigen and Yenikale landings are supported by 152mm batteries from the islands Koca Tuzla and Kosa Chushka: And there will be some Romanian troops, and maybe we will get even brown uniforms for them, the Romanian AAA Truck is already working... @AndreiTomescu Edited September 18 by kraut1 2
