Hello there.

 

After some years playing IL-2 GB and 1946, plus doing some modding, i wanted to do a research about the actual modding situation of the game as i saw a notorious lack of mods (specially in comparison with 1946). After reading about it at the old forum, the main problem seems the lack of tools to be able to modify even basic things as the effects or the sounds.

 

To summarize, what can be done and what not at the moment, is there any specific tool to edit like EFX files apart of the Hex editors and in case of Hex editors which one are the best for this. Is there any way to recompile sounds, can be extracted with FMOD tools but not recompiled.

Been testing with the tracers and smoke effects, as for this cal 50 test based on the already tracer length mods with some extra modifications.
