Christer Bergströms monumental, well-written and well-researched series takes pride of place in my book shelves. Vol. 6 just landed. Fantastic reading for the holidays!

Good thing is, that there are plans for Vol.7. I hope he will be able to continue this excellent book series up to the last battles in Mai 1945.

If vol. 7 is until Spring -44 I guess there will also be volumes 8 (rest of 1944) and 9 (1945).

I am going to (for the first time) meet Christer in Sweden at the end of January for a weekend get-together he arranges every once in a while for people interested in the Luftwaffe.

I emailed Mr. Bergstrom recently, and he made an interesting remark about Oleg Maddox, IL2, and the book series:

I was cooperating with Oleg Maddox back in the Nineties when he was working on the game, and he actually wanted to name it Black Cross Red Star to point out the close connection with the book - but my American publisher didn't want him to "take a free ride" by "using" the book!!!! If he had only known...
