Achive91 Posted December 12, 2025 Posted December 12, 2025 I do not find anything in the Key assignment page for my rudder pedals. As a result, the pedals are not available for me. Unless I am missing something...which could be true for this newbe. Need some suggestions. Quote
Aapje Posted December 12, 2025 Posted December 12, 2025 Find the yaw-control in the key mapping and start binding it. Then press the right pedal. Quote
Czech693 Posted December 12, 2025 Posted December 12, 2025 Under plane controls tab. If you have pedals then you program them using the axis settings for pedals (yaw). Pedal buttons on the keyboard are for those who don't have pedals. Quote
Cardolan Posted December 12, 2025 Posted December 12, 2025 Will be enjoying my first rudder pedals ever really soon, so I decided to look at this thread. I am now a bit confused. After I plug the pedals, will I need to do anything else for them to be recognized in the game? I supposed it would behave like my joystick and be automatically recognized, only needing special functions like left brake or right brake to have it assigned in the proper places (much like pressing the chosen button in the joystick in the key mapping, only pressing the relevant pedal). Do the pedals need a different type of setup? Thanks in advance for any help! Quote
Aapje Posted December 12, 2025 Posted December 12, 2025 It should be no different assuming that you haven't connected more than 8 devices. You can check devices.txt in IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\data\input, to see whether the game sees your pedals. For my Crosswind pedals I also need to move the pedals and brakes once over the full travel to calibrate the device, but that is device-specific. 1 Quote
Cardolan Posted December 12, 2025 Posted December 12, 2025 Thank you very much for the swift answer @Aapje I have less than 8 devices connected, yes. Quote
Czech693 Posted December 21, 2025 Posted December 21, 2025 The pedals need to be set up in Plane Controls. It doesn't automatically assign the controller to pedals. You could assign them to roll instead of yaw, or some other axis. Quote
