Hi All, Christmas is coming and I have been thinking of upgrading my monitor, from a 27inch flat screen to either a 32 or a 34 inch curved screen ,  so for those of you that fly this excellent combat flight sim with a curved screen what are your thoughts and experience, can it be more immersive with this type of screen. I would appreciate your comments .

Cheers

Hi! I have a 34", 3440x1440 (Ultra WQHD), 21:9 curved, I really appreciate it, for sure you have more immersivity and 21:9 format allows to have a bigger side view, an advantage in combat.

Thanks Kurtz, That's a bit of useful information,

I used those and I was totally in love with them. 34" screens 21:9.

Since I changed to a OLED 4K 32" display on 16:9, I miss the Ultrawide. I might get one again.

Performance in the 4K is twice heavier as one of those 34" screens and also the side view was really useful for formation flying and situation awareness.

Kind regards,

I went from a 27" gsync to an AW3420DW gsync to a MSI 341CQPX adaptive sync. The res stayed the same with the last two but the HDR with True Black 400 and the QD-OLED which has faster response time resulted in much better picture quality with the 341CQPX vs the AW3420DW. I also picked up the last two in sale + open box so they weren't expensive as they could have been, otherwise I may have stuck with the AW3423DW a while longer. Both of the ultrawides are curved, with the 341CQPX being slightly more curved but don't really notice a difference between the two. I think with ultrawide a curve is beneficial.

The ultrawide 21:9 is much better than the 4:3 ratio for my viewing preferences for air combat sims/games. The extra rendering in the sides is also helpful in shooters. You do have to pay attention to other games, shouldn't be an issue these days but can come across games that don't support ultrawide but just something to keep in mind.

All that to say, ultrawide all the way for me.
