Can I recommend a head tracking system here or is that advertising?  It's a third party product.

well, why would it be advertising? i dunno know.

It's just a device that makes the game better. (i couldn't do without a head tracker now)

Look, to brake the ice, I have tried different ones, since the old 1946.

Tried eye movement based ones, cap mounted reflectors, infrared sensors of the headset, about all.

Tried homemade ones, company made ones. (i've borrowed from other guys)

My final personal conclusion is:

- eye tracking ones are much less reliable compared to head mountes IR

- The actual hardware is not important, if it's right made. It's just 3 IR leds, and a modified camera. You can do it yourself quite easy.

-The SOFTWARE is what makes all the money. open source ones are far less effective compared to branded ones. It's like almost another planet. Or maybe i hadn't had the time and skill to fine tune it to oblivion.(not that i haven't tried 🙂 )

So i've bought a TrackIR about 4 yrs ago, i forgot what version, it was the latest back then, downloaded a setting curve from a reputed forum member from the old forum (Requiem, i think) and everything was perfect. 

So if you've found a device that cheaper and better compared to others, and YOU HAVE TESTED IT YOURSELF, and you are pleased, it would be great to share that info.

As long as you don’t have a financial or personal stake in the product, I wouldn’t see why it wouldn’t be fine

I would like to mention the DelanClip Fusion. I ve had the trackir with the hat clip and pro clip, both work. They do have issues, the hat clip sometimes  looses the tracking due to Other reflexions in the room, the pro clip has wires that get in the way…drives me crazy sometimes. The Delanclip Fusion can attach to you headphones or you can get their head strap ( I have  ) that works well and use this with their cam1 camera and free open track software. This has been the best tracking device so far that I have used, they have a profile that works perfectly with it-2. Do check them out.
