Dev Blog #55: Gameplay Reveal Announcement

I was already looking for the DD topic, but no whining needed, apparently. 😉

But clearly you are working very hard and don't have anything to show yet, but it's appreciated that you do tell us that you are working on getting something very nice ready.

Well, we did get a screenshot with tracers - and an in-engine screenshot showing the cockpit! That is something! I'm a bit stoked.

Also, the Mig-15 Bis cockpit visibility isn't as bad as I remembered it from other sims!

...and just a week to go before we see this particular video!

Will there be commentary like the usual dev blogs, or will we be able to hear the sounds of Il-2: Korea?

I was expecting a reveal not an announcement of a reveal. They're finally learning about hype. 😄 Hope the vid shows improved textures? Looks like GB from the pic (but with winged engines).

@Catch

Aren't you enjoying an announcement of a future video showing a later in the future pre-release of an even later in the future full release?

You know, at this point I wouldn't care of the look of "Korea" was no different than Great Battles, Not that I think that is likely.  I am just bored to tears with the current theaters we have to fly in, so the change to a new place to fly will be a welcome relief from the current maps and plane set.

I can't wait.

Yes, I am actually thinking that it'll be a nice 'palate cleanser' before returning to WWII.

TBH, my enjoyment in aircraft tends to go down after 1942 ends... higher wing loadings, more inertia, more firepower - mean less elegant dogfights. The 1950s-1960s are the epitome of that. I think there are few outliers (the Mirage III, maybe the F-8, Mig-21 and later the Mig-23), but you don't really get good turn performance back until the 1980s. So a lot of the late 1940s piston engine designs are already not my preference, let alone the early jets.

That said, a change can be good... and maybe I just need a different mentality? All of the new features will definitely make me want to deeply explore the sim. So it might be a perfect opportunity to discover I like something else...

Which might be the worst case scenario if you don't want me appearing in the Wishlist thread saying... 'the developers have said they aren't interesting in "what-if" scenarios... but what about the Venom, the La-15, and other early 1950s types that weren't deployed outside of Europe'... to the point that I annoy everyone, including myself 😄

Anyway, it'll be really interesting to experience this sim at a new level of speed - and the larger payloads will be great for ground attack... and we'll still have piston engine fighters with relatively good handling (even if they are the fast ones from 1944-1947)... it should be a tremendous amount of fun.

Just wait a little. Dev`s on exhibition now and busy. Vid looks cool, although it`s short.

Now seeing the video - good calls on all of that!
