Hurridale Posted December 3, 2025 Posted December 3, 2025 Am at wits end trying to replicate the cutout windows, as per the Shuttleworth Collection's Sopwith Pup (yes, it's actually a converted Dove, but Vintage Aviator claims that this mod was made for anti-Zeppelin Pups). I have successfully removed the fabric but cannot figure out how to add window panes on the outboard panels. Am still a newbie on this skinning gig, prefer GIMP over Photoshop. Please advise before my free trial of Photoshop expires on 8 December! Obrigado! Quote
migmadmarine Posted December 3, 2025 Posted December 3, 2025 Perhaps someone more experienced in skinning tricks than me will have a better option, but I imagine you can't add a new material to a skin that isn't meant to be there. I assume you made these cutouts by setting the zone of the alpha channel to black, yea? I had been about to suggest setting that portion of the alpha to high shine, but of course you can't have it be a hole and high shine.... 1 Quote
Hurridale Posted December 3, 2025 Author Posted December 3, 2025 Thanks for the reply, Migmadmarine. Yes, I think you described the problem, and I think this is beyond what skinning is allowed to accomplish 😞 At least I have the small cutout version... Quote
