Saving a new DDS not working

I have made a skin, and I've saved several already, so I know the settings, but I just tried to save a P-38J skin and it's popping up all kinds of error messages and won't save the DDS properly. I don't know if it's the way I flattened it or if it's an issue with the template, has anyone else run into this? I can share the psd (which I was able to save) of the flattened file to see if someone else can make it work in something other than gimp if someone is willing to help me out. Very frustrated.

Did you set the save options to interlaced when creating the dds?
