Cryingman Posted December 2, 2025 Posted December 2, 2025 (edited) Perhaps filed under early adoption of new products isn't always a good thing. Landed one of these https://mozaracing.com/products/mtq-throttle direct from Moza as I liked the look, the reviews were good and the price seemed competitive. Not due into Australia until the end of Jan 26. Couldn't wait that long ๐. While it works great with DCS (and MSFS apparently though I haven't tested this). IL-2 sees the throttle as a 3 position switch rather than an axis. This means that throttle is 0% or 100% ๐. Notes on Moza website conflict stating compatibility with IL-2 and firmware notes saying instead it is being worked on. Recommend not buying until (hopefully) Moza fix this. I'm not holding my breath. If anyone has a fix, I would be happy to hear. Edited December 4, 2025 by Cryingman Problem resolved Quote
Aapje Posted December 2, 2025 Posted December 2, 2025 IL-2 has the issue that if a controller is configured to send both axis and button signals, it can pick the button over the axis for binding. If those button presses only happen at the extremes of the throttle position, you can try moving the throttle to a bit over halfway, and then starting the binding process and moving the throttle up a bit. Perhaps it will pick the axis then. There is also an option to manually edit the device mapping, which I had to do to get the brake handle axis to work of my AB9 + Virpil Alpha joystick setup. 1 Quote
Cryingman Posted December 2, 2025 Author Posted December 2, 2025 (edited) Appreciate the suggestion. Unfortunately IL-2 staunchly refuses to see it as anything but a switch. Annoying especially as I have a good chunk of the dlc. Interestingly, the Moza cockpit software lists IL-2, let's you configure for it and then proceeds to not work properly.๐Back to DCS I guess.ย Edited December 2, 2025 by Cryingman Quote
TCW_Brzi_Joe Posted December 2, 2025 Posted December 2, 2025 Thrustmaster Airbus have same problem when used without driver (it is recognized by windows). I solved that after installing driver, and then disabling those extra buttons/detents. 1 Quote
Cryingman Posted December 2, 2025 Author Posted December 2, 2025 (edited) Not sure the Moza cockpit software has that feature. Will check it though. Thanks. I have lodged a ticket with Moza support. They might even give me a fix for it. Who knows? Stranger things have happened. Edited December 4, 2025 by Cryingman Quote
Cryingman Posted December 3, 2025 Author Posted December 3, 2025 Now I'm getting the distinct feeling Moza actually aren't across the problem. They want video of the fault. Should I charge my normal Technician fee for helping them fault find their new product range? ๐ Quote

Dash,Polder Posted December 3, 2025 Posted December 3, 2025 You can easily edit the text file where the assignments are made to manually assign it as an axis.ย This is what every virpil grip user has to do in order to get the brake lever working as an axis, its the same situation.ย Quote
Cryingman Posted December 4, 2025 Author Posted December 4, 2025 (edited) So, Moza tech support got back to me and they were not much help. However, thanks to a few of you here I was able to arrive at the solution. My response to Moza below may help others buying this stick in the near future. ย "Thank you for your reply. This did not fix it. However, I did find the solution. For future reference.ย Open Moza cockpit.ย Select the "Axis Detent Settings" button. Turn off "Detent Button Mapping" slide selector. Launch IL-2, go to settings/key mapping/throttle control following the instructions for axis. It should bind as joy3_axis_w or something similar depending on device count.ย Users may need to save this setting and exit and then go back into the key mapping input response screen for this to take effect. Afterwards, you can turn the "Axis Detent Settings" switch back to on to adjust the afterburner settings, as they work nicely as emergency power for WW2 planes as well. Suggest publish the above text in the FAQ's on your website. It may save a few others the few hours I spent trying to sort this." Edited December 4, 2025 by Cryingman 1 Quote
AcesDarthBubu Posted January 1 Posted January 1 I am having difficulties to get IL2 to recognize the gear switch (button 29/30), anyone having the same issue on the MTQ? Quote
