Sketch Posted December 1, 2025 Posted December 1, 2025 (edited) It's unfortunate that years of discussions and tutorials of the mission editor and creating missions from many members of the community are now lost in the void. Edited December 1, 2025 by Sketch Quote

They still seem to be there for reference... Links still work on the old forum and the discussions are there. Edit... After reading a few other posts, I see what you mean. I guess you are referring to the content that was uploaded directly to the site and not hosted? Edited December 1, 2025 by Jaegermeister Quote
IckyAtlas Posted December 2, 2025 Posted December 2, 2025 Say everything that was accessed through a url link in the post seems lost, as the attachments (downloading files etc.) are not active as the forum itself. But those who posted most probably have them either on their disk or on a public drive. All the text and images that were part of the post stay. Some videos (you tube links) do work still, but others are frozen. The problem here is that the forum was nearly 14 years old, and many who contributed over time, are long gone for various reasons. Some of the old posts had also links that were already invalid as the data to which they referred were not maintained, or accounts not renewed etc. This new forum will show how many will continue with GB. For the devs, besides sales of the GB titles, it will be a better way to measure the size of the audience still interested in GB and if it is worth to continue developing. I suppose the test of GB resilience will happen when Korea comes out and where some competition may happen. Quote
Aapje Posted December 2, 2025 Posted December 2, 2025 @LukeFF On the previous forum you didn't allow people to upload things by others, but will you now allow people to upload things of people that are no longer active, so we can restore the availability of things that are no longer available due to the forum move? 2 Quote
JG4_Deciman Posted December 2, 2025 Posted December 2, 2025 Well... As far as they told us: The old forum was set to 'read only' (so no more postings possible) What they did not tell us: - no more login possible - all directly attached files in any posting are 'unavailable' - search disabled And I guess all that is created by 'no more login possible' (which is from my point of view somting completely differend from 'read only') Sugestion would be: - Make every user 'logged in' as a guest - Give the full rights to 'search' and 'download' - Make the attached content available again to download Or: Simply delete 14 years of knowledge by deleting the old forum... This 'castrated' version is not really helpfull in any way... Deci Quote

We've already been allowing that since this new forum opened. 1 2 Quote
JG4_Deciman Posted December 5, 2025 Posted December 5, 2025 Well.. It seemes to be fixed because sombody else posted the same issue in a different part of the forum later (and got attention by a different part of the team) Thanks for fixing it (even if it was not even taken into notice here!!!)
