Profile photo

It seems that in this new forum the profile photo that we can put is not an issue any more. 

I had imagined when it was announced that we would not have any profile photo anymore.

In the old one it was blocked and many of the new entrants could not puta profile phot. Many complained but it was definitively blocked.

It is very positive that it has been reinstated and we can have a profile photo. But I do not see what really changed to allow for it. Maybe forum policy?

We are allowing custom avatars now but ones we deem to be in breach of the forum rules will be removed promptly, per Rule 15.

So long as the profile picture is not political or a flag, it should be good.

I almost used a photo showing the rivers of Canada - but because the map didn't include the rivers in the United States it was too obviously a national map, and thus seemed a bit too nationalist - so I've put up a Salmson Moineau S.M.1 - which can't be confused as a political statement.

Yours is perfect by the way. There is absolutely no risk that we can confuse it with anything or anybody on this earth.😉

It's true. Luke's image is great but Avi's is unique. I'm a WW1 enthusiast but would never have thought of using an image of the Salmson Moineau S.M.1. Heck I'd never even heard of it. So I looked it up and by gosh it's a fascinating crate. More interesting than the Rivers of Canada although I'm told they can be spectacular.

Yes I figured it was time for a change, and I've had that image sitting on my HD forever.

If someone'd like to consider vehicle art for one's profile picture, I cannot recommend Darryl Legg's works enough, he's got tremendous skill. Mine as well is a work of his called "Merlin Magic".

He's covered a range of topics, primarily WW2, WW1 and modern military aviation, but also drew some arts of civilian aviation and on random topics.

I wish we could have profile banners as well (that part that you can expand above Posts, Joined, Last Visited with our name and the Account Setting and Edit Profile in the top right corner. On that other Sim's forum I use that banner for my specs...

Also, having a signature again would be nice as well.
