Borodino 1941 is an eight-mission single player scripted campaign in which the Player will fly the IL-2 Model 1941 on the Moscow map.  Missions are from October 9-16, 1941; the time period after the Vyazma Encirclement, when the Germans renewed their drive on Moscow during Operation Typhoon.  The road to Mozhaisk and to Moscow crossed the historic battlefield of Borodino where the Russians delayed Napoleon’s advance on Moscow in 1812.  Here, at Borodino, the Russians made another stand to stop the invaders.

The week-long battle delayed the German Army and bought precious time for the Russians which allowed them to strengthen the defense of Moscow.

***Notes:  A mission is completed when the player lands back at his home airfield.  So, even if targets are not destroyed, if you make it back alive, then you have accomplished the mission!

All missions include takeoff on the runway with engine running.

Note for future Sim updates:  Whenever Great Battles is updated, mission files get broken and must be updated, again and again, rendering them unplayable.  In order to fix the missions, open the IL-2 Sturmovik Mission Editor... in the TOOLS dropdown list, choose "Resave All Missions in Folder" and navigate to the Campaigns and/or Missions folder in your computer (IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles/data/Campaigns) and click "OK".
