So with the forum migration, have we just lost all access to the mods that were posted on the old forum and not hosted externally?

Was trying to download the "ICONS" mod because it's the only viable middle ground for offline VR that isn't too much data or squinting for dots, and all the files posted there are unavailable. I'm seeing the same thing elsewhere for other mods that aren't hosted on 3rd party websites, all the files are just showing as "Unavailable."

Are there any plans for those old forum posts to be migrated over here by chance? 

And if anybody wants to share any of their "ICONS" mod zips, I'd be hugely grateful.

If we identify which mods aren't available we can try to track down copies.

Hi Avimimus,

I think in general for all Mods, Campaigns, SP Missions, Mission Editor groups the situation is the same:

If in the Old forum the downloads are links to external places like Dropbox, Mediafire or similar, I assume that these Downloads are still working and the Posts are still suitable.

All downloads that were uploaded as zip files (or maybe rar or 7z) directly to the posts are just shown as graphics without function.

In my overview post I have started as a preliminary solution to search the zips on my computer and to upload them to mediafire:

It's for security. It's for your own good. Although maybe just allowing a change of password for the store would've sufficed rather than create a whole new forum. But we do get Russian commentary now which is very interesting.

As I am doing, you can remove the "other than English" language users by hovering over their profile, choosing Ignore, then check the 3 boxes and click update. You wouldn't see their posts anyway if they were restricted to another section of the forum, so no loss. Odd choice they've made here to intermingle the languages.

But we now have threads that mix Russian and English, so if you click ignore, won't you miss part of the thread? It can be very confusing if people start responding to comments that you cannot see.

I'll only miss what I wouldn't have seen anyways, as I won't translate non-English messages anyways. For me it's the best solution.

Kraut1 is correct that any mod that was uploaded to a forum post on the old forums is showing as "unavailable" and unable to download.

For the moment these mods and many others are all functionally dead, as they do not have 3rd party hosting links and this is the same for any other mods that are solely hosted on the deprecated IL-2 forums.

That was what you got with the old forums when not logged in. Quite possibly the download is still there but as we can't log in the download is not accessible. No idea whether the forum management team/person can fiddle the old forum security to allow downloads to be accessible but not allow people to post. Maybe a generic profile you get automatically so you are logged in but you don't have rights to post.

The ZIP-file download from the old forum seems to be working again. I was just able to download my own 3 posts.
