Cockpit photos and crib/data cards

I've worked out how to do this but all my photos are black/grey. What am I doing wrong? What format must the original picture be. 

Also, where can I get crib/data cards (landing and takeoff speeds etc;) for each type in Kms/Mts, mainly Russian and German types?

I think you already know this, but the format for the cockpit photos to display in the cockpit must be .dds, and I do not know why yours only save in black/grey, as I have not experienced that before.
